Earlier this week at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, General Motors officially unveiled the all-new, next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia, which will go on sale in the U.S. in early 2024. Now, The General has confirmed the 2024 Acadia for the Canadian market as well.
For starters, the Detroit-based automaker hasn’t released any significant differences between the U.S. and Canadian variants as of the time of this writing. However, it’s worth noting that the current 2023 GMC Acadia is equipped with AWD as standard fare in Canada, so it’s expected that this will carry forward into the 2024 model year. Both countries will offer four trim levels: Elevation, Elevation Premium, AT4 and Denali.
With an 8.4-inch stretch in wheelbase, a 10.6-inch increase in overall length, and another 3.2 inches of extra height, the 2024 GMC Acadia is longer, wider and taller than the current 2023 Acadia. This directly translates into larger interior dimensions with more cabin space, along with 80 percent more cargo room behind the third row. Depending on configuration, maximum seating capacity stands at seven or eight passengers.
On this inside, the entire cabin has been thoroughly overhauled. A 15-inch infotainment screen pairs with a standard 11-inch diagonal driver information center, which itself includes features like Google built-in technology and nine available camera views.
There’s also a suite of standard safety tech features, including Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, and Rear Park Assist, among others. The GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system is also available.
Regardless of trim level selected, every 2024 GMC Acadia model will feature the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque as standard, while the GM eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard across the range.
Notably, GM Authority was the first to report that the 2024 Acadia would feature this powertrain.
The next-gen 2024 GMC Acadia will launch in early 2024. Production will take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant. Of course, pricing and further details will be announced closer to production start.
