It’s surprising how much a difference something as simple as new taillamps can make on a vehicle, especially when viewed at night. Now, anyone looking to upgrade their 2014 through 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck can turn to Morimoto for its new XB LED taillamps, which serve as a direct replacement for the standard units. The new Morimoto XB LED taillamps include a plug-and-play adapter harness for easy installation.
In addition to fitting the 2014 through 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, the new Morimoto XB LED taillamps also fit the 2015 through 2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD (single-rear-wheel models only). The lights include two horizontal rows of TIR-Optics and 3D light blades, serving as the brake light and turn signal. The lights provide considerable illumination, and can be easily seen, day or night. The styling looks great too, with either red outer lenses or optional smoked lenses on offer. The light source includes SSC LED technology, with red lighting for the brake like, parking light, and turn signal, and white light for the reverse lamp. The housings are made from ABS plastic, while the lenses are made from polycarbonate.
The new Morimoto LED taillamps for the GMC Sierra include a five-year warranty, and are DOT and SAE compliant. Pricing starts at $525 for the pair, per the Morimoto website.
For those customers that need additional backup lighting, Morimoto is also offering a complementary backup light boost bar, which bolts in directly to the rear bumper using the two top license plate mounts. This item is also plug-and-play with regard to installation, and provides a considerable boost in rearward visibility when backing up at night, putting out 2,700 lumens of raw intensity light, an increase of more than 300 percent over the factory configuration. Pricing for the Morimoto backup light boost bar is set at $77.50, per Morimoto’s website.
