Here Are The 2024 Cadillac CT4 Fuel Economy Ratings

Although a mid-cycle refresh was originally expected for the new model year, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 only sees the introduction of a select few updates. Now, one of these changes includes a slight adjustment in fuel economy ratings for the luxury sedan.

Although the fuel economy numbers for a majority of the powertrain configurations are carried over from the 2023 model year, ratings for the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine are down slightly in both RWD and AWD configurations.

Side profile of 2022 Cadillac CT4, which will be similar to that of the 2024 Cadillac CT4.

As previously mentioned, a mid-cycle refresh for the CT4 is expected for the 2025 model year, or possibly later. Once released, the upgraded luxury sedan will boast revised exterior styling, an overhauled interior, and likely more tech goodies like the new infotainment layout found in the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4.

In regard to the current model, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 is currently available with one of three engine options, including the aforementioned turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque (or 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque in the CT4-V), and the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.

Under the skin lies the GM Alpha 2 platform, while North American production of the 2024 model year kicked off at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan in July 2023.

  1. What caused the MPG ratings decrease?

    1. That is a real head scratcher. The horsepower is the same as 2023. Maybe a re-tune for emissions? Maybe the EPA modified the routines that they use to determine the mileage, but that would have likely affected the other engines as well. If the 2024 were a little heavier, it would also have affected all of the engines. Two mpg less for the RWD is pretty significant.

  2. Nice looking Caddys. I have a 2.0 L turbo Malibu and it’s been a fantastic trouble free engine for the first 72,000 miles anyway, so I would think it’s basically the same motor. A nice combo of power and fuel economy.

  3. At first glance, those numbers don’t look overly impressive. But then you look at the all new Buick Envista with the 3 cyl and 6 speed auto with basically the same numbers and suddenly this looks better! But no matter, I can attest to the MPG that I would get with the 2020 CT4 I had. It was really great, especially on the highway where I could easily get 35 MPG consistently and with plenty of power for what it needed.

This all takes me back to a conversation we had on here months ago where I brought up how the big Buick’s from the 80/90’s with a 4 speed and the great 3.8 V6 would consistently get over 30 MPG on the highway when driven well. So here we are 30 + years later with smaller vehicles and much smaller engines and no improvement on MPG’s. Just one more reason why I love my Bolt EV and the old cars more than these new ones.
