GM’s 2024 Wuling Xing Yun Officially Launches In China

A couple of weeks after revealing the new Wuling compact crossover in China, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just officially launched the model in the Asian country as the all-new 2024 Wuling Xing Yun.

General Motors’ second joint venture in China launched the 2024 Wuling Xing Yun on September 20th in the local market, once again expanding the product portfolio of Wuling, the Chinese automaker’s main and best-selling brand. As such, the new 2024 Xing Yun becomes the third crossover to wear Wuling’s Global Silver logo, positioned above the subcompact Xing Chi and the compact Xing Chen (Asta).

The all-new 2024 Wuling Xing Yun stands out for adopting a unique and highly distinctive design language that is very different from the rest of the brand’s vehicles, by sharing platform, body structure, headlights and various styling elements with the Baojun RM-5 – as GM Authority exclusively reported. However, the Xing Yun introduces new front and rear designs, its own five-seat configuration and a hybrid powertrain.

Initially, the 2024 Wuling Xing Yun’s launch lineup in China is made up of the Standard and Flagship variants that come standard with a comprehensive set of features to meet the transportation needs of families. In addition to the 10.25-inch infotainment screen with the brand’s latest Ling OS interface, the Xing Yun has specially designed seats for greater travel comfort as well as ample space for passengers and cargo.

On a mechanical level, the 2024 Wuling Xing Yun includes a unique hybrid propulsion system composed of a 2.0L naturally aspirated Atkinson-cycle engine and an auxiliary electric motor, which develops 130 kW or 174 horsepower in addition to 320 Nm or 236 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain is managed by an automatic transmission that sends power exclusively to the front wheels.

The all-new 2024 Wuling Xing Yun is now available for sale in the brand’s dealer network in China, where Wuling’s transformation continues with more modern next-generation products that are increasing the brand’s share of the passenger-car market. It is available in one of four distinctive exterior paint colors and at least two interior combinations, including two-tone beige and black. Here is suggested pricing:

  • 2024 Xing Yun Standard: 89,800 yuan (about $12,320 USD at the current exchange rate)
  • 2024 Xing Yun Flagship: 105,800 yuan ($14,520 USD)

  2. Who ever thought in our lifetime that we would see an American car manufacturer announce a complete new version in China along with others doing the same. With that starting price NO AMERICAN made car could ever be affordable. At age 71 I get shocked more each week at how crazy the whole USA has become.

    1. Just remember there is a whole lot of slave labor in China…just remember those people jumping out of the upper floors having worked what 18 hr days or such for the FOX CON making Apple phones….you know that cell thingy in many american hands today! And oh yes Fox Con that company that was suppose to put 10k jobs in MN under the ex Pres that amounted to dirt being moved around and 2k white collar jobs that have now disappeared but SHHH dont tell anyone that was all a farce. Yet while we complain about China products the premier APPLE products are mostly made there yet we dont vote with our pocketbook. I for one have never owned and APPLE product nor do I intend to.
