GM To Replace Incorrect 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Shifters

Dropping in as the second model year for the hot-to-trot performance sedan, the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing once again offers a combination of track-scorching performance, high-end luxury, and head-turning style. Critically, some examples of the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing were equipped with the wrong shifter. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that General Motors will replace the shifter on affected units.

The correct shifters will be installed under a new Customer Satisfaction Program, tagged as N232408660. This specific Customer Satisfaction Program was released earlier in the month, and only affects the 2023 model year for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. The Customer Satisfaction program also affects units of the Cadillac CT5. It’s estimated that a total of 205 units are involved.

According to the Customer Satisfaction Program, certain units of the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing were equipped with the incorrect shift control knob. Affected units were built with a leather-trimmed shifter for the Electronic Precision Shift controller, rather than the correct sueded microfiber-wrapped shifter. The sueded microfiber-wrapped shifter is tagged with RPO code 5CS, and is available in conjunction with the sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel (RPO code 53S). These two units cost a combined $300.

To correct this issue, dealers are instructed to replace the leather shift control knob with the correct sueded shift control knob.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is equipped with the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual transmission, or the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. The GM Alpha 2 platform provides the underpinnings, while assembly takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Lansing, Michigan.

As for updates compared to the initial 2022 model year, the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing introduces four new exterior colors, including Midnight Steel Metallic, Maverick Noir Frost, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and finally, Argent Silver Metallic.
