Chevy Silverado EV To Get Custom Trim Level

First breaking cover in 2022 at the Consumer Electronics Show, the Chevy Silverado EV promises all the usual pickup truck capability expected of the nameplate, plus zero local emissions thanks to GM’s latest all-electric powertrain technology. The first two trims revealed included the fleet-oriented WT, plus the well-equipped RST First Edition. Now, GM Authority has uncovered that the Chevy Silverado EV will also offer a mid-range Custom trim level.

At present, it’s unclear when the new Chevy Silverado EV Custom will make its debut, with possible release dates during the 2024 model year, the 2025 model year, or even later. That said, the new Custom trim level will be more affordable than the RST First Edition, slotting in above the 3WT and 4WT variants and below the  RST / Trail Boss variants with regard to the Chevy Silverado EV trim level cadence.

In terms of content, the Chevy Silverado EV Custom is expected to equip the Work Truck’s feature set, but with a more-attractive exterior. For example, the Chevy Silverado EV Custom will likely not include the black bumpers seen on the Chevy Silverado EV WT.

GM Authority previously provided a comprehensive breakdown of the features equipped by the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT and 4WT trim levels, so make sure to check that out for more information. Although the Chevy Silverado EV WT is geared more towards fleet buyers, the 3WT and 4WT are relatively well-equipped, with features like an 8-inch digital Driver Information Center, 11-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless phone projection, multiple USB ports, a wealth of safety tech, and more, all of which are equipped as standard.

For reference, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT starts at $74,800, while the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 4WT starts at $79,800. Destination freight charge is set at $1,895. The GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings across the Chevy Silverado EV lineup. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

  1. I’m noticing more and more WTs and Custom trims lately on ICEs. Hopefully, folks are finally fed up with this ridiculous overpricing and overequipping.

    1. Agree, that’s why I will be ordering so I get what I want and nothing more. ICE of course, no EV for me.

  5. I think it’s somewhat interesting that so many manufacturers seem to be hedging their bets on release dates… almost like they are waiting to see if there is a change in administration and / or a resulting change in policy towards EVs in general.

    Just a thought…

  6. My 2012 LT with 4.8 is looking better all the time! Got 190000 on the clock and still runs great. Third transmission though, go really needs to get their transmissions figured out.

    1. My 2003 Silverado with the 4.8 has 301,000 miles; never misses a beat, never an engine problem; never a trans problem. It lived most of its life as an appliance delivery vehicle with multiple drivers that pushed the vehicle to its limit; It is rusting though, but it is in the snowbelt; but it just keeps running. Paid 21,000 for it brand new in ’03. IT DOESN’T OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING! And, That’s why all of my trucks are CHEVROLETS.

  8. article reads “Destination freight charge is set at $1,895” Either this article is old, or the price to ship EV’s are $100 cheaper than ICE vehicles. The charge to ship a ICE Silverado is $1995. Hmmmm

  9. Do they offer a Custom Trim Level that highlights the Silverado EV’s 100-mile range on a full charge when towing a maximum load?

How about the “Silverado EV 100K-Z Edition”? 100k is the price, Z is for zero range past 100 miles.
