Chevy Camaro Driver Tries To Show Off With Burnout, Loses Control: Video

If you ask us, burning rubber is good, wholesome fun. However, there are times when this time-honored tradition just isn’t gonna work out, especially when space is tight, power is high, and talent is low. Such is the case with the following viral video featuring one very unlucky Chevy Camaro.

Classic 1970 Chevy Camaro does a burnout before crashing.

The video takes place in what appears to be a parking lot in a small industrial park, with a number of parked cars lining the exterior and the middle of some blacktop. In the background, we see a tow truck.

As the video gets under way, we see a second-generation Chevy Camaro start to smoke its tires. Painted in dark blue with two large racing stripes running down the middle, the Chevy looks quite nice. The gold stripes match the wheels and another stripe down the flanks. We see two passengers in the seats.

As the Chevy Camaro burns rubber, we see someone standing to the side, shooting some video. It looks as though the driver is trying to capture some content for social media. As we’ll find out, they are indeed about to go viral, but not in the way they want.

After arcing around some parked cars, the driver snaps off the throttle, sending the Chevy Camaro towards one of the garage doors. The driver hits the brakes and nudges the nose of the Camaro to the right of an adjacent RV, stopping just short of the garage door. After coming to a halt, the driver throws it into reverse, once again stamping on the throttle.

After pointing the car towards some open pavement, the driver lays back into the throttle, sending the rear tires up into smoke. The rear end pivots around, then pendulums back the other way, pointing the Chevy Camaro once again back towards the garage doors. What follows is a relatively slow, painful slide into the garage doors.

Luckily, the collision doesn’t look too heavy, but either way, we hope the driver learned their lesson:

    1. I hope not but it looks like a split bumper so probably not but to cut a t roof in genuine would be criminal. Moms boyfriend had a 70.5 z and that’s the badest street car I’ve ever ridden in still remember that sound of the m22 trany and what a thrill to ride in

    1. In reply to your “out the window” response, firstly sir, since we are resorting to insults, may I be the first to inform you that you are an imbecile. I watched a couple of times and couldn’t see it. What Drag Strip were you staging at before racing.? Plus, and this verifies that you are an imbecile…those aren’t slicks on your car, so explain to us why the burnout ?

  7. I guess after really thinking about it this mostly makes me sad that a great car like what appears to be at the very least a 70½ Z28 tribute car gets treated like this. In my opinion I think that until the big bumper Camaros came along this was just one of the most beautiful cars ever made for the money. It’s a shame to see a car like this in the hands of a mouth breather…

  13. My guess is the owner of the video took it down. At the bottom where the video should be, there is a name of Darnell Hughley (@wetpaint_nation). I did some searching of him but can’t find the video. Maybe someone else can find it.

it’s an actual 70 1/2 SS that grandpa gas torch braised the whole roof panel off a 79 Trans Am on to it. it was cut across the front window posts and right behind the rear window. The real kicker is my brother bought it out of a ladies front yard in the suburbs of Chicago for 150 bucks when he was 16 years old 2 years prior!

ACR not trying to start anything with you, just surprised anyone really cares enough to try to look up the video. That’s why I put the piece sign at the end. Sorry if I offended you in anyway. Was not my intention at all.

  25. The car has the wrong wheels and tires. Any vehicle would do that if you put stupid looking over sized rims with tiny little rubber band tires stretched over them on it. With 15″ rims and a good set of performance tires, it would have been fine.

    1. Actually what would be perfect, are the 17 X 9 Z28 Rally Wheels Yearone is making now.. just big enough to run some nice brakes & and just enough sidewall!
Not to mention an excellent selection of affordable performance tires.. I try to run 17s on all my cars 😉
