About Chevy Bolt EV
The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV receives minor changes over the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV.
Last fall, the Chevy Bolt EV received the 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Award along with two more models from GM, namely the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HDÂ and 2023Â GMC Hummer EV Pickup.
However, in March, the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV ranked significantly below the segment average in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. EV Experience Ownership Study. Additionally, Chevy took last place in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience Home Charging Study, which measures customer satisfaction with permanently mounted Level 2 home electric vehicle charging stations.
Value-wise, though, in December we reported that the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV is a steal with the full EV tax credit of $7,500. That may be in spite of a $900 price increase in January on the 2023 Bolt EV.
Furthermore, in April, the Chevy Bolt EV was recognized as a 2023 AAA Car Guide winner by the Automobile Association of America in its small vehicle category.
Last month, Kelley Blue Book reported that the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are the least expensive EVs to own over the span of five years in their respective category.
The Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV currently serve as GM’s entry-level all-electric vehicles, offering zero local emissions and surprising practicality, all at an affordable price point. While The General initially confirmed that production of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV will officially come to an end later this year, GM CEO Mary Barra confirmed during a Q2 2023 earnings report presentation that a next-generation Chevy Bolt is on the way after all. The automaker plans on “updating the vehicle with Ultium and Ultifi technologies,” Barra said during the earnings call, though the next-gen Chevy Bolt won’t be a clean-sheet redesign.
GM Authority has learned that 2023 Chevy Bolt EV, Bolt EUV production has been extended into December.

It may be an available lease, but that lease stinks. That is NOT a good deal.
Ford announced yesterday that it is pausing work on its new multibillion dollar battery plant in Michigan. Is this the first crack in the EV mandate wall? Is it breaking Ford? Is it a nod to the UAW? Just say NO, I will not be mandated by anyone to drive an EV!
GM manufacturers the most reliable cars in the world but their management has been poor for over 40 years. GM invented electric vehicles. It took years for anyone to catch up. GM should be producing orders of magnitude more EVs than anyone else. Instead, they produce the Bolt in low volume. This lease is ridiculous.
