Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing: Live Photo Gallery

General Motors is making waves when it comes to the electric vehicle segment, but The General isn’t giving up on internal combustion quite yet, as confirmed by GM President Mark Reuss. In fact, GM’s ICE-powered portfolio is absolutely filled with impressive machinery, not the least of which is the high-performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the track-ready luxury sedan in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

Front end of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing performance sedan.

This particular example hails from the 2022 model year, and sports a number of tasty upgrades, including the Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 aero packages. The exterior is draped in Infrared Tintcoat paint, offsetting the black trim and aero pieces with a deep red hue.

The front end incorporates slim headlights drawn up into the fenders, with a striking vertical lighting signature that runs down the periphery of the fascia. The vertical lighting signature is broken up by a single styling line that draws the eye rearwards into the elegant side view.

Black trim runs around the windows of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, while the door handles match the body in terms of color. The profile is hunched forward in an aggressive stance, while in the corners, this Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing runs the 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a Polished / Dark Android finish – the standard spec. High-performance summer-only tires provide the grip. Under the rollers, we have a set of Carbon Ceramic Brakes matched with Cross Drilled Rotors, a $9,000 optional upgrade.

The rear end finishes it off with a large ducktail spoiler and diffuser, while a quartet of squared-off exhaust tips spit the good noise.

Speaking of which, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing cradles the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, rated at a pavement-churning 668 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 659 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm. All of that go reaches the rear wheels through either the GM six-speed manual transmission, or the optional GM 10-speed automatic (this particular example runs the former).

The GM Alpha 2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  1. Great looking Cadillac!!
The Blackwing with the larger carbon fiber raised spoiler is really sharp and is likely the view most people will see, as the supercharged V-8 really moves!
The CT5V in V6 trim also looks great. Just yesterday a driver in a new BMW M3 commented on my new CT5V that he really liked the styling of it.

  2. IT is a fantastic looking car with all the technology it has, and with all the advertising about the Blackwing ,you would think that Cadillac US would be more eager to meet the demand and would be able to figure out how many allocations for the US and Canada there are going to be for 2024, I have been on the list in Canada for a couple of years for a CT5V Blackwing. GM says to check with the dealers ,but it seems like they don’t tell the dealerships anything especially north of the border. Absolutely ready to pull the trigger on one if they can get some allocations OR IF NOT just tell the dealerships they’re not getting any and we can move on ,I have been a Cadillac owner for may years with several different CTSV’s ,hopefully all this feedback makes its way to the power that be

  3. You may have to go to the US & purchase your Blackwing, then drive or ship it home. Gold Coast Cadillac in Oakhurst NJ is the largest Volume Dealership & carries the most BW vehicles, including the new Escalade V Series. They may be your best bet?
