In the United States, Buick Enclave deliveries totaled 9,126 units in Q2 2023, an increase of about 16 percent compared to 7,885 units sold in Q2 2022.

In the first six months of the year, Enclave sales increased about 20 percent to 17,929 units.

In Canada, Buick Enclave deliveries totaled 1,014 units in Q2 2023, an increase of about 86 percent compared to 546 units sold in Q2 2022.

In the first six months of the year, Enclave sales increased about 112 percent to 1,750 units.

In Mexico, Buick Enclave deliveries totaled 108 units in Q2 2023, a decrease of about 29 percent compared to 152 units sold in Q2 2022.

In the first six months of the year, Enclave sales increased about 19 percent to 271 units.

Buick Enclave sales during the second quarter of 2023 put the premium three-row crossover in third place in its segment when ranked by sales volume. The Acura MDX placed first with a 66 percent jump in sales to 16,741 units, followed by the Volvo XC90 (see running Volvo XC90 sales) in second with a five percent drop to 9,808 units. The Enclave (see running Buick Enclave sales) placed third with a 16 percent bump to 9,126 units, within under 700 deliveries of second. The Infiniti QX60 took fourth with a 138 percent leap to 7,731 units. The Audi Q7 (see running Audi Q7 sales) placed fifth with a 31 percent swell to 6,865 units, while the Cadillac XT6 (see running Cadillac XT6 sales), the Enclave’s corporate cousin, took sixth thanks to a five percent slide to 5,305 units. The Lincoln Aviator (see running Lincoln Aviator sales) finished out the list with a 50 percent drop to 2,977 units.

In terms of segment share, the Enclave maintained a 16 percent share. The MDX posted a 29 percent segment share, up a segment-best eight percentage points year-over-year, followed by the XC90 with a 17 percent share, down four percentage points. The QX60 posted a 13 percent share, up six percentage points, while the Q7 held a 12 percent share, up one percentage point. The XT6 earned a nine percent share, down three percentage points, followed by the Aviator with a five percent share, down a segment-worst seven percentage points.

The premium three-row crossover segment grew 21 percent to 58,553 units in Q2 2023, meaning Enclave sales underperformed the segment average.

Combining the two GM crossovers in the segment, the Buick Enclave and Cadillac XT6, places The General solidly in second place with a cumulative 14,431 deliveries for a 25 percent segment share and within about 2.3K units of first.

While Buick Enclave sales remained healthy during the second quarter of 2023, it fell below the segment average in terms of growth, thereby placing third among seven models. This performance is noteworthy given that Buick has one of the oldest entries in the segment, though a next-generation model is on the way.

We posit that Enclave sales increased as a result of improved inventory at the dealer level, enabled by higher levels of production.
