2025 Corvette C8 Refresh Will Bring Noteworthy Changes To Interior

General Motors unveiled the new mid-engine Corvette for the 2020 model year, rolling out a series of model variants in the years that followed, including the Corvette C8 Stingray, Corvette C8 Z06, and Corvette C8 E-Ray. Now, the mid-engine Corvette is poised to receive a refresh for the 2025 model year, and GM Authority has exclusive details. Read on to learn about a few noteworthy changes expected to be made to the interior with the upcoming 2025 Corvette refresh.

The interior of the current C8 Corvette.

Pre-refresh Corvette interior

Back in June of 2022, GM Authority was the first to report that the 2025 Corvette C8 was set to introduce a refreshed interior. Now, GM Authority is back at it to follow up on our original report with yet further details.

According to GM Authority sources, the 2025 Corvette C8 refresh is indeed still on the way, with the biggest change expected to be the deletion of the HVAC controls found along the large center divider between the two seats. This should arrive as a welcome change, as some owners have complained that the current interior layout feels somewhat cramped and divided. In fact, the middle console can prevent the driver from doing simple things like holding the passenger’s hand while driving.

Our sources also inform us that the waterfall interior element behind and between the two seats will be revamped to include a more useful inductive / wireless device charger. As it stands now, the current design is less than optimal, as it’s difficult to reach and far from ergonomic.

Pre-refresh Corvette interior

In addition to the interior changes explained above, the 2025 Corvette refresh will also introduce the new Corvette C8 ZR1 variant, set to cradle the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 gasoline engine. Output is expected to be measured at roughly 800 horsepower, with all the complementary upgrades to match, including active aerodynamics. GM Authority even rendered what the 2025 Corvette C8 ZR1 may look like, so check that out for more information.

  1. How soon do we think we’ll see this fresh interior? Next Spring?

    1. It’s a 2025 model year. We won’t be seeing this refresh until late fall 2024 at best, more likely early 2025.

      1. I meant photos of what it look like before ordering?

  2. Really, being able to hold the passengers hand is a concern? 2 hands on the wheel driver!

    1. Agreed. Besides the so called GWAB barrier is overstated. One can readily access the controls from the passenger seat. The screen? Whatever, don’t mess with my music.

    3. proof that people will literally complain about anything no matter how stupid it is / sounds. “can’t hold someone’s hand” they can’t be serious 🤦🏾‍♂️

    4. Perhaps “holding hands” was a euphemism for something less romantic.

  3. This isn’t exclusive, I saw this all news all over the internet and social media yesterday.

  4. New engine as well?

  5. About “some” owners complaining about the HVAC stack, perhaps. Most of the criticism has come from auto media writers, actually. I personally don’t have a problem with mine, which is not to say that it cannot be improved. But, I will say that I hope that there will still be physical controls of some sort. I hate cycling through menus for what should be standard and easy.

Also, I hope the power estimate for a potential ZR1 variant is off, because 800 horses in today’s high end market might not be sufficient.

    1. Inthought it was to be 1000 Hp. 800 is barely more than the LT5. That would be a disappointment. Ive heard it will be a turboed LT6 making almost 800 plus the E-rays hybrid drive for the atempt at 1000hp

      1. That is still coming, and will be yet another variant.

      2. Have the super high performance engine model called Fae-Ray in honor of the original King Kong movie! With all that horsepower the vehicle should really “scream”. LOL

  6. How ridiculous it prevents someone from holding someone’s hand while they’re driving something they should not be doing anyway

    Reply
    1. I think they were just being sarcastic stating that!

      Reply
    2. Not be holding anyones hand!?!? I suppose you think tickets should be given out if they dare take one hand off the wheel to take a sip of a drink?

      Reply
  7. But they’re probably do is put it all in the video control head which of course will further distract the driver from what they need to do the push buttons are so much safer so you’re not scrolling through a stupid screen like a computer being distracted from what you should be doing typical of today’s society one giant screw up

  8. forget about holding hands -at the drive in movies its almost impossible to get a little

    1. Go back and get your 50’s car with the bench seat.

      1. Not a bad idea. 50’s cars were big, gorgeous and comfy. It would be nice to have a bench in a xar or SUV

  9. Glad to hear they are changing the wireless charging location.

    1. Ditch the phone charger and bring back the classic corvette waterfall between the seats please.

  10. “Holding hands” is just code for something else…
Everyone enjoys regular, quality hand holding, and the Vette makes it more difficult.

    1. Yup.First thing the wife said when she got in, how am I gonna… be *close* to you.
      When parked of course.

  11. Some changes are needed for sure, especially the charging station. But I’ll wait to see the new arrangement before Passing judgement.

  12. I stopped using the built in charger. So that was a waste.
Yeah, no grab handle for passenger, no way for interacting with each other when parked due to the
    jet fighter closed in cockpit.
I will welcome the changes, but with annual price increases my $60,995 USD 2021
will cost a lot more in 2025. So for me, this change comes too late.
    I cannot afford a 2025.

    1. When you say , no way to interact with each other , you mean , sex?

  13. Hopefully more HP for the Stingray and a Computer upgrade, from GM, so I can get the extra Hp, for my 2023.

    Reply
  14. Hopefully they will address supply of Z06 and E ray so loyal fans can buy them for msrp… love my c8 but won’t pay 180k for a motor which is the most change from mine….

  15. I hope GM uses the feedback from the Corvette community and human/ machine interface experts to accomplish the design. And the cell charging between the seats is a ‘no-go”. Storage should be a consideration in the new design. Looking forward to the new cockpit.

  16. I know personally, when I’m cross shopping mid-engined sports cars, the ease with which I can hold my passenger’s hand is of the utmost importance in my search.

  17. I have no problems with my C8. With every new vehicle you go ahaead, and make adjustments. Otherwise you should have made them before you bought the vehicle. Ive had several Corvettes over the years, and that is what I do. Common sense.

  18. Maybe with the refresh interior change a manual will be introduced with the Zr1

    Reply
  19. There should be a manual available for all of them the fact that they’re all automatic makes me not want to buy one at all as I enjoy interacting with the car with a clutch I guess GM will chase us to other brands

    Reply
    1. You can still interact with the car using the paddle shifters. Best of both worlds: The fun of shifting your own gears without having the aggravation of messing around with a clutch pedal in today’s frequent stop ‘n go traffic.

  20. Changes limited to just the interior ?
Guess the designers haven’t finished patting themselves on the back for that fat ass.
    Oh, so pretty !

  21. Glad to hear that ridiculous stack of buttons is going away! How about the return of a manual transmission? A manual C8 would be awesome!!

  22. This is where I think manufacturers are dumb. There is no need to refresh c8 interior. The waiting list for a c8 is insane. They should run the c8 as is for many years 1st year they can build more than what is order ed then refresh. No car is close to C8, keep cost low and they can sell this thing for 20years straight untouched. Happy c8 daily driver c8 owner here.

  23. I love how everything is shaped around the driver. I have no complaints about driving my 2023 C8 Red Mist Convertible. The phone charger is really no big deal. And the waterfall is truly a really cool feature. I get looks every time I take my C8 downtown or on a trip to San Diego. Many times I get filmed at least once with someone’s cell phone! My C8 was worth the 16 month waiting list. Work hard and play hard.

  25. i like the wall, it’s a barrier against all the hookers who try and jump into a Corvette, It also directs your focus where it should be. Lower the seat, leave the wall! If GM wants to spend a million on a refresh, like someone said redesign the bulbous rear end.

  26. Please bring back the grand sport package/option. I have a 2019, last year sadly, but it is gorgeous. For the price of the package, you got so much.
Gm could open up capacity for more customer orders, if they would stop randomly sending out “Base 1LTs, especially white ” to the dealers. I think personally everything in production should be at a minimum “2LT and a Z51”. I know they have to have a few so they can advertise their low entry price point, but come-on now. Also, when did chrome rims get so damn expensive. Not a fan of black or painted wheels, but over $4200.00 as a factory option for the chrome rims is ridicules.
Time to get off of my soapbox. 🙂

  27. Does the C8 really need some changes, maybe, but wait until the C9.

  28. They need to find a way to liberate one’s wallet from cash! I like the current center stack and so does everyone else that sees it. They need to move the radio volume knob to the other side so one can anchor his hand on the corner whilst adjusting and bring it closer to the PX.
