2024 Chevy Trax Offers New Roof Rack Cross Rails

General Motors unveiled the 2024 Chevy Trax last October, debuting an all-new generation for the entry-level crossover. Despite its relatively small dimensions, the 2024 Chevy Trax offers a decent amount of cargo room – 12 percent more than the preceding model, to be exact. Now, 2024 Chevy Trax customers can enhance the crossover’s practicality even further by opting for these new roof rack cross rails.

Tagged with RPO code VLL, the new roof rack cross rails for the 2024 Chevy Trax are now available to order, and according to Chevy’s website, the upgrade “conveniently attaches to the roof-mounted side rails, enhancing its cargo utility and flexibility.” Pricing is set at $395.

The roof rack cross rails for the 2024 Chevy Trax are available on LT, 2RS, and Activ trim levels, but not the LS or 1RS, as the LS and 1RS trims do not include a roof rack. To note, the roof rack (RPO code V59) on LT and 2RS trims is black, while the rack on the Activ trim incorporates a titanium accent.

As GM Authority covered previously, the 2024 Chevy Trax is longer, lower, and wider than the preceding model, measuring in with an overall length of 178.6 inches, an overall width (without mirrors) of 71.7 inches, and an overall height of 61.4 inches. The wheelbase is 106.3 inches. In addition, the 2024 Chevy Trax also offers more room in the cabin, including an extra three inches of rear legroom. With regard to what’s under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Trax cradles the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine as standard, with output rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Output hits the front wheels exclusively via the GM six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is not offered. The GM VSS-F vehicle set provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea.

  1. For the buyer, knowing what the weight limits with these cross rails are would have been good info for GM to release to the author of this article, no?

The rail package should have been made available on the Day One release as the carrying capacity of these mini SUV’s with a family of three is truly limited.
