2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 Deliveries Have Begun

As the first true off-road-focused offering for the Bow Tie brand’s heavy-duty truck lineup, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is set to break new ground for the HD pickup range. Now, GM Authority has learned that deliveries of the Silverado HD ZR2 have officially begun.

With production officially kicking off in August 2023 at the GM Flint plant in Michigan – the HD ZR2 isn’t built at the GM Oshawa plant in Canada – the very-first Silverado HD ZR2 has been delivered.

It’s worth noting that there are about 50 units of the all-terrain HD pickup truck currently en route to dealerships across the United States.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is the third Bow Tie pickup to receive the ZR2 treatment, joining the likes of the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2. Off-road features include Multimatic DSSV dampers, unique front upper and lower control arms and steering knuckles, a larger steel transfer case skid plate, a front aluminum skid plate, a rear e-locker, and 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

Under the hood, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, while the uprated-for-2024 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, is available as an option.

The Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission stands as the only transmission option for both powerplants.

Pricing for the HD ZR2 units equipped with the gasser boast a starting price of $72,595, while trucks equipped with the Duramax feature a starting MSRP of $82,095. Notably, both prices listed include a $1,995 destination charge.

  1. The current Chevy 2500 HD truck is the best looking pickup from the Big 3.

    1. I actually agree. The Silverado HD took a huge step forward in looks, while the Sierra HD and Super Duty took a step back with their redesigns. I get that a lot of people like the Ram too, but I’ve just never been a big fan of them.

  2. Sure hope the black wheel fad burns out soon. So tired.

  3. Be nice if they would offer it on a regularcab 2500/3500 I’d put. Order in for one with the new interior and lockers make it a ranchhand edition
