The 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison got its big debut this past May, with General Motors unveiling an all-new, trail-ready midsize pickup decked out in a wealth of high-end components developed in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). Built specifically for off-road enthusiasts, the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison doesn’t disappoint when the pavement ends. Now, we’re getting up close and personal with the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
Spotted on the floor of the 2023 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, this 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison is covered in Summit White Paint (paint code GAZ), which gives it a crisp, clean look that’s just begging to hit the local mud pit.
As already mentioned, AEV played a role in the development of the new Colorado ZR2 Bison, and as such, the off-roader is equipped with an AEV heavy duty front bumper, which also includes provisions for a winch. The front fascia shows off a Chevy Flowtie badge in the grille, inlaid in red.
Moving into the sides, we see a set of AEV 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch OD Mud/Terrain tires, which give the truck just the right amount of stick on loose surfaces. The new running gear rolls under AEV fender flares.
AEV was also called on to design the rear bumper, while in the bed, there’s a race-style tire carrier. Bison exterior badging completes the look.
The 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison also features extensive undercarriage protection thanks to a set of Boron skid plates and rocker protectors. The suspension is upgraded with segment-exclusive Multimatic front and rear Jounce Control Dampers and DSSV dampers. Paired with the new AEV body pieces, the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison offers a 38.2-degree approach angle, 26-degree departure angle, and 26.9-degree breakover angle.
The cabin space is a nice place to be as well, with an 11.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and AEV-branded headrests.
As for the greasy bits, the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison draws motivation from the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo High-Output gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. All of the go is fed through the second-generation GM eight-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and power-locking diffs front and rear.

Too small of motor ! Come on Gm get with the v8 in theses special vehicles like ford and dodge
Yes, we need a V8 in there, and a single cab..!!!!
The raptor and dodge rebel are full size pickups with v6s, but okay.
Love it!
Good luck with that , they have a backlog of 23’s plus the strike , forget it never happening , better chance of AEV making the whole truck from scratch
I say to nay sayers that own a peanut motor…..You will enjoy it. From an 80yr old Rodder!
I respectfully disagree peanut Motors are for nerds
Very good looking and equally as capable! If I was in the market for a mid-size this would definitely be on my radar. The fact the Colorado ZR2 can be optioned with bigger tires than it’s full-size brother is very telling of how bad they need to step up the 1500 ZR2’s game.
Just perfer to get the zr2
Nice looking Colorado exterior design overall. Too bad GM does not use Colorado and Canyon design Team for the Silverado and Sierra Trucks.
I wouldn’t buy it until GM gets their battery draining updates together. I have had my 2023 Colorado Z71 for 3.5 months and it’s been at the dealer 4 times already. Dead battery 6 times for 12 days at the dealer. Nice to pay on something you can’t use.
sounds like your dealer doesn’t know what they are doing, my 23 had one issue with the battery and it was corrected quickly.
I had a hard time comprehending peanut motors…but this peanut is stronger and more capable than my V8 H3 Alpha. I might finally have something worth buying to replace my 09 Hummer
