The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro is headed for the door, but before it goes, GM is offering up the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition, a special variant outfitted with a variety of unique content to enhance the exterior and interior. Available on all trim levels and both the coupe and convertible body style for the 2024 Chevy Camaro, the Collector’s Edition package is a solid choice for those customers looking to add some custom touches to their new sports car. Now, we’re getting a closer look at the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition SS in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
The content of the Collector’s Edition varies between the different trim levels, so check out our previous coverage for a more-thorough breakdown of what’s available. Package pricing also varies quite a bit, with the Collector’s Edition set at $4,995 for 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims (with the RS Package), $5,495 for LT1 trims (with the RS Package), $5,995 for 1SS and 2SS trims, and finally, a whopping $14,995 for ZL1 trims. For reference, the 2024 Chevy Camaro 1SS starts at $43,895, while the 2024 Chevy Camaro 2SS starts at $48,895 (both prices exclude tax, title, license, dealer fees, and optional equipment).
This particular example, an SS Coupe, is draped in Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint (paint code GLK), which is complemented by a black center racing stripe and a black lower grille. The package also includes a number of aero pieces, including a front splitter. Viewed in profile, this 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition SS rides on 20-inch 5-split spoke Black forged aluminum wheels (RPO code 56Z), while under the rollers, we see red-painted calipers adding a splash of color. A set of Satin black sideview mirrors blend in nicely with the body.
The rear end finishes it off with a sport rear spoiler, while a variety of exterior badging, including an LT1 badge on the hood, completes the look outside.
Inside, there’s a carbon fiber instrument panel and a sueded microfiber, flat-bottom steering wheel, the latter of which includes unique Panther badging that gives a nod to the first-generation Chevy Camaro, just like the exterior.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Camaro is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, rated at 455 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 455 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Very Nice, but it does seem like a bit of an underwhelming send off. I guess it’s kinda more than the 02 Camaros got. But the Trans Ams got a pretty solid CETA edition that still gets attention today.
In other news, check out the Fiero GT in the background of the side shot photo! Let’s see some of that, too!
Great eye! Had to go back twice to spot that Fiero! Awesome!
That paint is as sparkly as a bass boat. Hmmm.
If you plan on living for another 75 years, it may be worth something to someone down the road. As for us that live in reality, you’re paying an extra $5,000-15-000 for some panther stickers, some aero bits and different wheels. Great job GM! 🙁
I get your point about it could be something more special, no argument there.
The SS Collector Edition Z4B package is $5,995 but I don’t think GM is overcharging per se. The parts add up. The paint if it were offered ala carte’ would be $1,995 (this is what Cadillac charges for this color which is only available on CT5 Black Wing as Black Diamond Tri-coat. Same color code). and the parts are like $1,495 for the wheels, $395 for the red calipers, $295 for the suede steering wheel, $100 for the satin mirrors, $650 for the front splitter, and $750 for the ZL1 coupe rear spoiler. So the paint and the parts add up to $5,680 anyway without the specific decals and such. So if its something someone wants, its not really an overcharge, or professing to be something it’s not.
My build week is 9/25….fingers crossed.
If you want to pay thousands for an appearance package (no horsepower upgrades whatsoever), that is certainly your choice. Have fun and enjoy!
BTW, the prices you supplied are GM’s prices, which are always much higher than the prices of third party suppliers. As someone that enjoys collecting and modifying late model GM vehicles, I could do much more with the money GM is charging and actually increase the performance of the vehicle. Again, if someone wants to pay $5,000-15,000 for stickers, paint and a few other bits, that is certainly their choice. It’s not my money. For $15,000, I could add a cam, tune, full exhaust (including LT headers) and a full Hotchkis track suspension (with coilovers) and have money left over.
Of course they are GM prices – yes I know what I provided…
And as I said, if its something someone wants, its a reasonable price…ie the $5,995 is not just for stickers.
Headers and coilovers….ok! Have you looked at the Camaro’s suspension? The exhaust. Not everything that ol’ Red at the shop bolts on your car is better…
The beauty of the Camaro is its refinement and power and handling and its capabilities right off the line. No need to add garbage parts and make em sound and feel like some mud-yard piece-mealed jalopies. But if that’s what you want… go fer it.
I don’t know why you’re so angry. I said that it is your money; therefore, I don’t have a say in the matter. Again, have fun and enjoy. Relax bud. If you enjoy paying more and getting less, that is your right as a consumer. I prefer paying less and getting more. For the prices GM is charging, you could build the car on your own and get more than stickers, paint and lackluster aero bits.
“Ol Red”? I build my vehicles by myself. It is part of the fun. I’m not one of these guys that doesn’t even know how to put air in their tires or change the oil. LOL!
“Garbage parts”? You obviously know nothing of modifying cars. Both Borla and Hotchkis are top of the food chain companies, that put to shame any parts that GM provides.
Enjoy the rest of your week and try to relax.
I’m not angry at all. I started this thread by agreeing with you – and yet citing some data about your assertion that it’s 5-15k for stickers. It is not that. I also said to each their own. There’s nothing to be resentful about with GM on the $5,995.
I’ll have this SS Collector to sit next to my 23 Zl1, as long as it indeed gets built next week!
And yep, I’ve owned, restored and upfitted many cars in my days, Corvettes, Full-Size mid-60’s GM iron, mid-60’s Buick Rivieras, C10’s, 283’s, 427’s, 5.3L’s. Change my own oil, rotate my own tires… replaced stock exhausts with Flowmasters and replaced Flowmasters with stock exhausts… So it has nothing to do with that. But, i’ve also worked in and around GM plants for over 25 years and on and around Milford Proving grounds and I see the engineering and the rigorous testing GM goes through – so the hot shot comments like “good going GM” and the like need to be offset with some data.
(Was you who came on here talking about how everyone is else is not living in reality like you are.) Enjoy your day.
– and: “Adopt all the Camaros”
Best of luck to you and enjoy your new car.
Should have had the proper send off of HP/TQ bumps…….smfh
I had a CETA and I think the final Camaro should have a more vibrant sendoff. But COME to think about it, it’s only fitting to choose black. I don’t recall ever seeing a Camaro tv commercial. Mustang didn’t have to advertise it’s iconic brand. It seems like the Dodge commercials are on every 15 minutes!I would have chosen a vibrant candy apple red with chrome, special edition Chip Foose wheels!
GM should have announced a Camaro EV by now. Hopefully it’ll be a sport coupe and not another station wagon.
It’s coming in 2025 or 2026. Not sure if it will still be called a Camaro but an EV is coming in it’s place. Got this right from a GM Representative when I ordered my Black Panther Camaro.
a camaro EV? Are you kidding me?
Not kidding. Camaro production shuts down January 2024. The only thing left is a Camaro EV, perhaps.
Lets just hope they do not make it an abortion EV like Ford did with the Mustang.
That is exactly what they are doing in 2025 the Camaro will be an EV SUV. Look it up.
Would love to get one last ZL1 but would not get an Anniversary Edition. Usually there less of any one given color than the Ann.
Badging, Stickers, and paint…..WOW……great way to go out with the Camaro GM…..SMDH 🙁
If you can find one.
You can tell what kind of leadership a company has when they do half baked send offs of paint, stickers and ugly wheels and spoilers on a long running iconic car. It’s so obvious they could care a less about it unless it turns into a boring EV of course
@Joe Yoman
Totally agree with you. This 6.2L engine has been around since 2016 and it was shared with the Corvette. Gm could have tweaked this motor for another 30 to 50 HP/TQ, but instead choose stickers, badging, and colors…….such a disservice to a truly great performance car.
They should really just it the “collect more revenue edition”. It’s just a quick and dirty money grab before they discontinue it.
ve been a Cheverolet guy for 50 years , and this wasn’t the best send off that GM could have done. A bump in horsepower would have been great. I have own a 1969, Camaro SS, a 1972 Chevelle 454 SS, a 1964 Impala SS, a 2002 S10 Extreme is my daily driver and I have a 2012 SS in the garage with 8500 miles . If you are a chevy guy you are a chevy guy. I have a CE 2SS scheduled to be built 9/25 this will probably be my last new car purchase before I leave the planet so I’m going to pull the trigger because this may be my last chance to get something not everyone else have. I think the badging should have been better and A Panther logo on the seats would have been cool. I think GM dropped the ball on this send off, but I’m still going to buy one.
Picked up my Black Panther 2SS yesterday. Loving it. Looks awesome in the sun light and we loaded it with every option we could get then added a couple of trim pieces after it came in. It’s a looker when the sun hits it.
Cool Car, Congratulations! You will turn a lot of heads. What’s with all the Snarky Comments? Seems like sour grapes to me. If you add all the standard options included with the CE package SS $6000, i.e., Splitter, Carbon Fiber, Calipers, Stripes, and yes, the Panther Badging and color the upcharge is next to nothing. I ordered a loaded 2023 convertible with the same stuff, and it was over $65000. I cancelled that order, and I just bought a 24 CE SS Convertible with the specs and it cost $66,600.
How many Black Panther 2SS Camaro’s will
GM be producing? Is it true only 2000 ?
Far fewer 2SS’s than 2000. They were only going to build 2000 across all trim levels… maybe 300 of each? Probably just 200 or so SS’s got built with the shortened production run… not sure?
This is not true. Only the zL1 Collectors were limited in quantity. GM stated they would build as many of the others, including SS as were ordered. LT, LT1, and SS collector editions were never limited in quantity. The part about few actually got built due to the limited production year is true. Only GM knows at this point how many were/will be produced. I got one. SS coupe with 6 speed and polished alloy rims. Can be seen on Wild&Blue YouTube.
I was told the same thing by a senior GM Manager . The ZL1 were the ONLY ones being in limited production . And that the other models (Panther) were by no means a limited production car .
I read on this very page , that GM was going to build 2000 across the other trim levels meaning that it could be 2000 cars divided 5. But that would also be determined by the number of engines and parts to make a particular trim. GM also stated that they were going to build more V8 powered Camaros than the previous year. I’m guessing about 300 2ssCEs and more LT1s and 3LTs
I know a guy who got a 2024 2SS Camaro Panther . Telling everyone it’s a 1 of 2000 Collector Limited Edition. And he says he’s going to sell it it at Barrett Jackson in a few years and make a killing .
