2024 Cadillac Lyriq To Offer New Trailer Hitch

The Cadillac Lyriq is the very first all-electric production model to wear the vaunted Caddy crest, offering a combination of luxury and the latest EV tech from GM. However, in addition to the usual Cadillac style and backside coddling, the Cadillac Lyriq crossover can trailer as well, if need be. In fact, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq even offers a new trailer hitch.
While photos of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq’s new trailer hitch are currently unavailable, the item is tagged with RPO code SDE, and it’s available as an LPO-level option, which means it’s installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.
Pricing information is also forthcoming. However, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq trailer hitch requires the trailer hitch closeout panel, which is tagged with RPO code VLG and is also offered as an LPO-level option. Customers are also offered a trailer hitch ball cover, which is tagged with RPO code 5Y4, and is once again an LPO-level option. Unsurprisingly, the trailer hitch ball cover requires selecting the trailer hitch and the trailer hitch closeout panel beforehand.
It’s also worth noting that the new trailer hitch is only available on all-wheel-drive variants of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, which include the following trailering provisions (RPO code V92):
- Hitch Guidance (RPO code CTT)
- Hitch View (RPO code PZ8)
- Wire harness connector
As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, or 1,588 kg. This gives the all-electric Lyriq a towing capacity on par with that of the midsize Cadillac XT5 crossover. The all-wheel-drive Cadillac Lyriq is rated at 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, mounting a pair of GM Ultium Drive motors, one of which is up front, the other which is mounted in the rear. GM Ultium batteries provide the juice.
The GM BEV3 platform serves as the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

I hope my Sport 2 order doesn’t include this useless addition to a Cadillac.
It’s a putty that these vehicles will never be sold outside the United States 🇺🇸
When will the Lyriq have HUD?
