2024 Cadillac Escalade Drops Mahogany Metallic Paint

The 2024 Cadillac Escalade debuts the fourth model year for the latest fifth-generation SUV, introducing just a few small changes and updates compared to the 2023 model year. One of these changes is a slightly revised paint options list. Now, GM Authority is dishing out the latest details.

According to GM Authority sources, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will not offer the Mahogany Metallic paint option (paint code G48). Mahogany Metallic paint will be discontinued after the Escalade’s 2023 model year.

Mahogany Metallic was first introduced to the Cadillac Escalade paint options list in conjunction with the 2022 model year, debuting as one of three new hues for the full-size luxury SUV, the other two of which were Galactic Gray Metallic and Wilder Metallic. Mahogany Metallic paint was offered as an extra-cost item priced at $625, and was available in combination with each of the Escalade’s six interior colorways.

Mahogany Metallic paint was offered for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade as well, and was available in conjunction with every trim level and configuration, with the exception of the high-performance Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV. However, as GM Authority covered previously, the last order cycle to order the 2023 Cadillac Escalade in Mahogany Metallic paint was August 3rd, 2023. Mahogany Metallic will be built out after the week of September 18th.

Beyond discontinuation of the Mahogany Metallic paint option, the only other paint option change expected for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade is the addition of Black Diamond Tricoat. Tagged with paint code GLK, Black Diamond Tricoat will have limited availability, and will be offered in conjunction with the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V that will receive V-Series 20th Anniversary features. To note, Black Diamond Tricoat is also available on the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V, CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V, and CT5-V Blackwing.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
