For the 1978 model year, the third-generation Chevy G20 Conversion Van was given a mild revision with updates to the exterior styling. Now, an AJ Foyt-themed 1978 Chevy Van was been posted for sale online.
Listed for auction on Bring a Trailer, this particular 1978 Van has been modified by Good Times Inc. of Arlington, Texas, with a conversion package and is finished in orange and white with AJ Foyt Coyote Edition graphics. A clean Maryland title is in the seller’s name.
Aside from the striking orange and white paint job, this 1978 Chevy Van features a roof rack, rear-mounted ladder, aluminum running boards, diamond-plate mud flaps, towing mirrors, dual polished exhaust outlets, and auxiliary lights mounted to the roof and along the running boards. Notably, the seller notes that the decals are worn and aged, along with a chip in the windshield.
As for rollers, Keystone Turbo III 15-inch wheels are wrapped in 235/75R15 Firestone Destination LE3 raised white-letter tires, which are from 2023.
In regard to the interior, the front cabin features two-tone swiveling captain’s chairs, along with orange carpet, a tan dashboard, and woodgrain trim on the dash and upper door panels. Further amenities include a center console storage compartment, wooden cupholders, air conditioning, cruise control, a CB radio, and an AM/FM/8-Track stereo.
Moving to the rear cabin, we find dual swiveling captain’s chairs and a rear bench in matching upholstery, as well as a removable table with cupholders, overhead lighting, privacy curtains, aftermarket speakers, and built-in storage compartments in the rear.
Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 5.7L V8 gasoline engine boasts recent maintenance, and was rated at 167 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque when new. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
With just 69,000 miles showing on the odometer, this 1978 Chevy Conversion Van appears to be in good condition. With that in mind, what do you think, dear reader? Is this van worth buying? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
