The 2024 Corvette introduces the fifth model year for the mid-engine sports car, debuting the hybrid, all-wheel-drive 2024 Corvette E-Ray, as well as a variety of updates and changes for the rest of the lineup. Among the updates is a few new wheel sets for the 2024 Corvette Stingray. Unfortunately, two of these new wheel sets are among the four wheels currently under constraint for the 2024 Corvette Stingray.
According to GM Authority sources, the following four 2024 Corvette Stingray wheels are currently under constraint (relevant RPO codes included in parentheses):
- 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 20-spoke Midnight Gray forged aluminum wheels with Red stripe (Q9A)
- 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 20-spoke Gloss Black forged aluminum wheels (Q9I)
- 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 5-split-spoke Satin Graphite forged aluminum wheels with machined edge (Q9O)
- 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 5-split-spoke machined-face Sterling Silver-painted forged aluminum wheels (Q9Y)
Two of these wheel sets are new for the 2024 model year, specifically the Q9O wheel set and the Q9Y wheel set. Each of these four wheel sets are offered across all trim levels for the 2024 Corvette Stingray. Pricing is set as follows:
- Q9A: $1,495
- Q9I: $995
- Q9O: $1,495 (new for 2024MY)
- Q9Y: $1,495 (new for 2024MY)
At present, the constraint on these four wheel sets is set at roughly 20 percent. In other words, supply for these wheels is currently limited to roughly 20 percent of what GM was originally planning on receiving and selling. It’s unclear at this time when the constraints on these four wheel sets will be lifted.
As a reminder, the 2024 Corvette Stingray is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 490 horsepower at 6,450 rpm and 465 pound-feet of torque at 5,150 rpm. Output is sent rearwards through the M1L eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GM Y2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

When GM selects a supplier maybe they should order more than 4 wheels. The high spoiler has been on constraint for so long I have to assume its a kid building them in his basement after school
Yeah this sh*t is ridiculous with GM supplier’s doesn’t GM do checks on their suppliers to see how they are performing, seems like it would be a great idea considering, I think the current buyer should be let go.
Top mgmt needs a complete change..perhaps they should start looking at foreign car manufacturers and recruit those Execs who demonstrate competency in manufacturing and supply chains!

These 4 wheels (2 are new) and all the new paint colors are on constraint. How ridiculous, I think GM management needs some major changes.
If I said this once I said it 50 times in comments, it’s obvious GM does not have a strategic, operations and production plan for 2024. The Corvette hasn’t gone into production for 2024 and they have a constraint on paint colors and now wheels. WTF. Successful companies plan 1 to 2 years out. 2024 production starts next month. GM should be already working and planning on 2025 models. There are no excuses, this is incompetence at its highest level, and heads should roll. Someone commented in the paint constraint article that “the C8 is a great car and I sure there is another color you pick”. Why should a customer who is going to spend a lot of money not be able to get what GM promised to produce. I cannot wait to hear the next constraint.
Its almost like GM is saying no 2024 corvettes can be built due to the constraints.
Waaay too many unsolved issues at GM these days. Failing Lifters with very unsatisfied customers, cracking dash’s with no help from GM, cracking wheels from GM and the list goes on and on. They sell a vehicle with OnStar only to shut it off a few years after. Just not correct when thinking “we want to sell you your next vehicle too”. I’m historically a die hard GM buyer but given the products being sold today and the obscene prices of what is being sold along with all of the Pokemon stying I have to think really hard about which new vehicle I’d buy today. The lifter issues and the cracking dash’s are major deals to me.
If GM gave dealers and consumers what they wanted instead of what they want them to have. Profits would be through the roof and everyone would be happy. What a novel concept.

Have a 2022 Chev Police Tahoe has had a brake problem since we received it over a year ago. Dealer ordered parts but have been unable to get pads and rotors.
Don’t blame the supplier. The supplier is building to a schedule and a volume set out in the contract. When GM estimates the wrong volumes, and the orders exceed the installed volumes they just order parts in excess of the contracted volumes and beat the supplier up to meet these new volumes. They don’t care the other customers have already booked the production capacity. Next, they say if you can’t make the new volume they will resource. Sometimes the volumes are off by 50% of what customers want. But it is always easier to blame the supplier.
The GM market volume forecast is off by half, and no one takes responsibility and so it just occurs again year after year. Suppliers when they make a mistake, they have to show they have a fix not just for this instance but that it should not occur again, so GM won’t have the same supplier problem. GM doesn’t use this process internally, however.
It’s not just GM. My Lexus RX350 sat at the dealership for over a month because it needed a water pump that was backordered.
