GM’s crosstown rival, Stellantis, is set to refresh the Ram 1500 light-duty pickup for the 2025 model year, and that includes the off-road-oriented Ram 1500 Rebel. Now, GM Authority spy photographers have caught the refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel off-roader testing as a camouflaged prototype. The 2025 Ram 1500 will compete with the Chevy Silverado 1500, with the 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel rivaling the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss.
This particular 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel prototype was caught testing in metro Detroit, and presents heavy camouflage covering the front and the rear. Under the camo, the refreshed 2025 Rebel will debut updated styling at both ends, with new headlights, a restyled grille, and a new lower bumper up front. Meanwhile, the tail end will introduce a revised tailgate, new taillights, and a revised rear bumper to bookend the refresh up front.
As for what’s under the hood, the refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel is expected to cradle the twin-turbocharged 3.0L I6 Hurricane H.O. engine, which doles out a sizable 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The Hurricane six-cylinder will also incorporate Engine Stop / Start technology.
Critically, the 2025-model-year Ram 1500 will not offer the 5.7L V8 Hemi offered for the 2024 model year. Even so, output from the twin-turbocharged 3.0L I6 Hurricane H.O. engine exceeds that of the 5.7L Hemi by a massive 115 horsepower and 90 pound-feet of torque, so it’s not like the refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel will be hurting when it comes to performance numbers. As for cog swaps, the 3.0L I6 Hurricane H.O. engine will pair with the same 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission equipped by the current Hemi-powered models.
Look for the refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel to debut early next year.

When was the last time that Ram actually did a full redesign of their truck? It looks like the same cab that they have had since 03
Definitely not “the same cab since 2003.”
1994-2001 (BR/BE), 2002-2008 (DR/DH/D1/DC/DM), 2009-current for the Ram Classics (DS ) and then the new gen 2019-current (DT). Each generation has definitely had its own cab/doors, etc.
At least they don’t use leaf springs , have a dual Panasonic sunroof , just saying . The icing will be on the new powertrain that’s stuffed beneath the fenders . I’m a Chevy guy but the body isn’t a problem , go sit in a ram and sit in a Chevy and you’ll see what luxury is about . In fact drive it and you’ll also see and feel the difference , Chevy needs to up their game a bit also .
Excellent point. The addition of sunroofs to Panasonic’s legendary line of laptop computers, HD TVs, and microwave ovens can only be considered a good thing.
Yeah, you can always spot a ram that didn’t get the air suspension & are pulling a trailer, they have the appearance of a boat planing off. I don’t understand the PANORAMIC desire, nothing like a big piece of glass flexing when off roading & creating leaks. The icing had better be a better flavor because that eco-diesel was not so sweet. Don’t confuse luxury with gaudiness, its a truck. The snout on those rebels is a spinoff of a 1955 GMC pick up, so maybe they should come up with an original thought. Haven’t driven one, so won’t comment on that aspect.
Mostly people (that are buying these loaded trucks) don’t really care about the truck part of a truck. Just turn them into an expensive luxury car that few can really afford. I think Ram is out car- ing everyone. If you’re looking for that.
Built to serve (ice cream or dinner). What’s that?
Because it’s not really a truck, it’s a luxury car most can’t afford.
