The new 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is set to introduce a fresh all-electric take on the popular luxury SUV nameplate, mating the traditional Cadillac luxury and styling with a wealth of cutting-edge technology. We’re a little over a week away from seeing the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ make its big debut, but there’s still a few interesting insights to be gained before the reveal thanks to a recent round of GM Authority spy photos. With that in mind, we’re now taking a closer look at the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ’s taillights.
Although this 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ prototype is covered up in thick vinyl covers and a black-and-white body wrap, the taillight design is still somewhat visible. The taillight housings appear to wrap around the rear corners of the SUV, extending laterally into either side of the liftgate. As is tradition for the Escalade nameplate, we can also expect the housings to extend vertically up into the rear pillars adjacent to the rear glass.
By comparison, the Cadillac Lyriq includes rear lighting that extends horizontally along the belt line before angling up around the middle of the rear pillars. As such, the rear lighting treatment on the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will be a point of departure from the Cadillac Lyriq in terms of exterior design.
These recent spy photos also reveal the Cadillac Escalade IQ’s rear window design, which GM Authority covered in-depth previously. The new battery-powered SUV will also be available with 24-inch wheels, as well as retractable running boards equipped as standard for most of the model range.
In terms of interior appoint, look for a pillar-to-pillar infotainment display, as well as the GM Ultra Cruise driver assist system as optional. Motivation will be derived from a set of GM Ultium Drive motors juiced by GM Ultium batteries, with peak output expected at 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, and range-per-charge expected at 450 miles. The GM BT1 platform will provide the underpinnings, while production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant.

I don’t see any light on the liftgate. It will probably be much like an Escalades for the brand identity, but with a lot more angle to the backlight and D pillar. They may wish the Lyriq and Optiq had copied those famous lights.
