Electric Powertrain

Let’s start with the thing that makes the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ unique compared to its ICE-powered brethren – the all-electric powertrain. Motivation is provided by a pair of GM Ultium drive motors, one of which is mounted up front, the other of which is mounted in the rear, providing all-wheel grip. Output depends on the drive mode selected, with Normal Mode providing 680 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, and Velocity Max mode providing 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque.

Electric Powetrain
System 2 drive units with 1 motor each
Motor Permanent magnet, bar wound
Power Normal Mode 1(HP / kW) 680 / 505
Power Velocity Max 1(HP / kW) 750 / 560
Torque Normal Mode 1(lb-ft. / Nm) 615 / 834
Torque Velocity Max 1(lb-ft. / Nm) 785 / 1064
Final Drive Ratio Front (:1) 13.26:1
Final Drive Ratio Rear (:1) 11.63:1

Battery System

Providing the electrons to the motors is a 24-module GM Ultium battery pack rated at 200 kWh. The battery includes a lithium-ion NCMA cathode, blended graphite anode battery chemistry.

Battery System
Type Rechargeable energy storage system comprising multiple linked modules
Battery Chemistry Lithium-ion NCMA cathode, blended graphite anode
Battery Rated Energy (kWh) 200

Charging Times

Plugged into a 240-volt source at 7.7 kW (such as with the dual-level charge cord) yields just under 15 miles of range per hour, while at 19.2 kW, the charge rate is roughly 37 miles of range per hour. Plugged into a DC quick charge source, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will gain roughly 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Note that charge times can vary significantly.

Charging Times
240V (7.7 kW Including Dual-Level Charge Cord) 14.8 miles of range per hour
240V (19.2 kW AC) 37 miles of range per hour
DC Fast Charge (Public) 100 miles of range in 10 minutes

Chassis and Suspension

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ rides on the GM BT1 platform, and features a short-long arm suspension setup with air springs and MagneRide dampers. The turning radius is just under 40 feet, while the 24-inch wheels are wrapped in 275/50 tires.

    1. You bring up a good point. I remember my father had an F-550 for work and there was some issue with 8.500 GVWR and roads with “no truck signs” that he could not travel on.

  2. At $175,000 or so, “as shown” in their ad, I wonder how many people will choose this type of vehicle. In many areas of the country, $350k buys a home. Yes, not all areas of the country and not the “Escalade of a home” but none-the-less, a home that often will appreciate in value. People do so using 30 year loans.
