As the first model year of the Bow Tie brand’s third-gen full-size crossover, the 2024 Chevy Traverse is headlined by thoroughly overhauled exterior design, interior appointment, and drivetrain specifications. Today, we’re taking a closer look at all the paint colors the next-gen Traverse will be offered in.
As a quick refresher, the eight paint colors for the next-gen 2024 Traverse are as follows (relevant color codes in parenthesis):
- Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN)
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W)
- Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)
- Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Stardust Metallic (GXK)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
It’s worth noting that Iridescent Pearl Tricoat and Radiant Red Tintcoat are offered as extra-charge paint colors. In addition, the LS trim level is only available in Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, Sterling Grey Metallic, and Lakeshore Blue Metallic, while the LT, RS, and Z71 trims are available with every paint color.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Traverse heralds the arrival of the third generation of the Bow Tie brand’s full-size crossover. On the outside, all-new Traverse features a more truck-like exterior look and incorporates Chevy’s “High Brow” design language.
On the inside, the cabin is highlighted by the 17.7-inch diagonal color infotainment touchscreen, which can be found as standard fare on the entire trim lineup. The new cockpit sports a redesigned steering wheel, along with more interior space overall, improved ergonomics, new colorways, and higher-quality materials.
On the safety side, every 2024 Traverse is equipped with the Chevy Safety Assist package (RPO code PED), which includes the following (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Automatic Emergency Braking (UHY)
- Front Pedestrian Braking (UKJ)
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (UHX)
- Following Distance Indicator (UE4)
- Forward Collision Alert (UEU)
- IntelliBeam (TQ5)
Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine has been replaced by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated by GM at 315 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the ground via the GM eight-speed automatic transmission. FWD is equipped as standard, while AWD is available as an option.
As for structure, the 2024 Traverse rides on a revised version of the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, which now incorporates various upgrades like the Global B digital architecture. Production is expected to kick off late December 2023 at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

I am wondering if GM will have the same option as the Colorado where you can pay to upgrade the engine power.
I believe it’s transmission limited due to being fwd based. The engine is otherwise artificially limited like the 2.7t used to be.
Simcoe understands Chevy’s market position better than previous design chief. I really like current Traverse but, to compete as a Detroit brand against Explorer, the SUV needs to be brawny and nothing like a Kia or Honda. Leave that task for Buick and, like with Envista, drop pricing a little bit. Enclave should be refined SUV styling in line with Mazda and Kia while Chevy should have sharp teeth.
Me thinks this vehicle should be called Tahoe Sport in an effort to leap frog Jeep and Ford.
So, is black going to be the only interior color offered? Appears to be the case, aside from the lite gray cloth offered on the LT. A Z71 or RS model only comes with black leather or evotex or whatever it’s called. This is a terrible idea IMO. No beige, gray, or assortment of interior color options will deter customers elsewhere.
I’m buying a new SUV …when I can find one WITHOUT a BLACK interior. I’ve got no kids throwing
food/drink around so why drive inside a dark cave? You drop something on the floor and can’t see it. I’m on my 7th Suburban and never had a BLACK interior. I won’t buy one now either. Dealers say that’s what is selling. HA! That’s because that’s what the dealer has in inventory. Looking hard at the ’24 Traverse/Acadia depending on cargo space vs. Palisade, Grand Highlander.
Aside from white, what colors are available without an up-charge?
Or, is white extra now as well?
It looks like just the radiant red and iridescent pearl are an up-charge, both are tricoat finishes. The other 5 are standard.
Something Buick, they charge an up-charge on all colors other than summit white – $495 to $1,095 )for the tricoat). It’s the same colors as the Chevy stable mate (Trax/Envista). Can anyone explain it.
If the new traverse is so great with the 4 banger maybe gm should give you 4 year 50,000 mile warranty i had a 2019 buick enclave with that warranty being standard not now i have a 2.7 turbo in my silverado was in shop for 34 days last year 9000 miles waiting for part they wrote on work order why engine light came on was extreme cold i live near utica ny what a line BS gm gave me no incentive for 34 days in shop contacted dealers manager no response then gm that was a complete waste of time so heads up on traverse 4 banger turbo i am still in talks with laywer on the lemon gm put out
Iridescent pearl and radiant red are the extra charge ones.
Would be nice to have Silver, some type of green or a light blue also available.
Agree! The 2023 Silver Sage Metallic (green), looks TERRIFIC in person. I was surprised as it looks pretty lame on the Chevy Configurator Tool.
What a bunch of boring colors!
I really hope the Z71 offers the optional Rear Camera Mirror and Adaptive Cruise Control. These are two features that our Acadia AT4 does not offer (available only on Denali).
Is the 2024 Chev Tahoe going to have any changes? Maybe 3.0 Durmax LZ ?
Cacti Green, offered on the Trax, would look good on the new Traverse. The old Blue Granite would be better than Lakeshore Blue.
Would love to see the Traverse in the Riptide Blue. Was waiting to see the blue of Traverse before trading but going with the Riptide Blue Equinox. Traverse needs to be a prettier brighter blue one of these years!
Hopefully, it’s not too late to re-think that hideous rear side window. If they don’t, and if I go ahead and purchase one anyway, I’ll have to go with the Harvest Bronze Metallic paint to help camouflage the window.
When can we have the option to get the Traverse 2024 premier in Lakeshore blue metallic?
GM is taking their time in lauching this vehicle, the BMW X5 is starting to look even better – and it can tow 7300 pounds too.
