The GM Authority Take
GMC Sierra sales continue a positive trend from last fall, showing that Big Red’s bread-and-butter offering is very much in demand. The uptick recorded during Q2 2023 was the result of greater availability, enabling quick turns.
GMC has improved and expanded its lineup in order to improve its bottom line and grow volume, and its clear that efforts have paid off. Even better, combining sales of the Sierra with those of the Chevy Silverado again made GM the king of overall full-size pickup truck sales in the U.S.
About GMC Sierra
The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 introduces only a handful of changes and updates compared to the refreshed 2022 Sierra 1500.
The big news for 2023 is the debut of the first-ever 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition as the most off-road-capable factory Sierra 1500 ever.
For 2024, the GMC Sierra 2.7L engine is called TurboMax. Additionally, the 2024 Sierra AT4X will offer the LZ0 Duramax diesel engine to provide more low-end torque while off-roading, joining the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine for available powerplants.
The 2023 GMC Sierra HD receives minor changes and updates over the 2022 GMC Sierra HD.
Last fall, GM unveiled the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD debuting fresh exterior styling, a new interior, a revised trim level lineup, new tech like standard wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, and powertrain updates. The refresh is highlighted by the arrival of the premium 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate, the pinnacle of heavy-duty trucks, which offers massaging seats for the first time on the Sierra HD. Consequently, a new Denali Reserve
In May, GM officially debuted the first-ever 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition as Big Red’s most capable heavy-duty off-roaders.
GM touts the 2024 GMC Sierra HD’s heavy-duty DNA, or “HDNA,” in a new video ad.
In October 2022, GM debuted first-ever 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali. The only variant built for the 2024 model year is the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. All other models, including the “regular” Denali, off-road AT4, and entry-level Elevation, will be offered for the 2025 model year. A showroom-ready example of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 was recently caught in the wild (on the road).
Refreshed GMC Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD models along with the Hummer EV Pickup and upcoming Sierra EV offer a complete range of premium, capable, and competitive trucks in both ICE and EV iterations. Sales have remained positive for GMC trucks since last fall and that should only improve all these models and variants land at dealerships. The Professional Grade brand has answered the market with industry leading variants like the ultra-luxurious Denali Ultimate and highly off-road capable AT4X, including the first-ever special edition from AEV. In fact, 84 percent of GMC Sierra HD Q1 2023 sales consisted of AT4 and Denali trims.
Additionally, GMC has launched the Sierra in other countries, namely the Middle East, Mexico, and most recently South Korea, with international sales set to boost GM’s bottom line even more.

My truck was finished June 6. It’s been sitting in the lot in Indiana since. All GMC wants is production numbers. They don’t care about delivery.
when did you order it?
Mid April
so it was built in 2 months of ordering? thats not bad at all. Did you order a spray in bed liner? I heard a 3rd party does them. Truck could be waiting on the bedliner to be done.
My GMC Denali was ordered in March, assembled May 12th. It is sitting on a lot somewhere in Indiana. Why don’t they GMC,give actual numbers of trucks delivered and sitting on lots somewhere. So I’m buying a year old truck for a new price. 2024 trucks are being delivered to dealers now. What a shame GMC is come to this.
I ordered a 1500 HC with everything and super cruise. Took almost 9 mths. 3 mths waiting is snot bad.
