Following its inaugural 2023 model year, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq returns with an updated trim level lineup and new features for the all-electric luxury crossover. Now, GM Authority has learned that more 2024 Lyriq trim levels have begun shipping to dealerships across the United States.
Sources familiar with the matter tell GM Authority that the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee has begun manufacturing Luxury 2, Sport 2, Luxury 3 and Sport 3 trim levels. Previously, the facility had been building Tech, Luxury 1 and Sport 1 trims. The Luxury 2/3 and Sport 2/3 trims are notably equipped as standard with Super Cruise, massaging and ventilated front seats as well as power-folding rear seatbacks, among other items.
As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq sees the introduction of the all-new Tech trim levels, which serves as the entry-level model for the Lyriq lineup. Pricing starts at $58,590, which includes a destination freight charge of $1,395.
In addition to the new trim, the 2024 model year is also highlighted by the new power panoramic dual-panel sunroof. Tagged with RPO code CAJ, this feature replaces the standard fixed glass roof (RPO code CFD), both of which include a power retractable sunshade.
In regard to powertrain specifications, the 2024 Lyriq RWD features a single motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD is equipped with a pair of electric motors – one per axle – that develop a combined 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Both models utilize GM’s Ultium battery tech and GM Ultium Drive motors.
As for range figures, the RWD variant boasts 314 miles on a full charge, while the AWD version features 307 miles from a full charge.
Under the body panels, the first-generation Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, while the 2024 model year began production at the GM Spring Hill plant in May 2023.

A local Cadillac dealership has 17 of these on the lot. I thought maybe they were presold, but they are not. They don’t seem to be selling well in my area. For those interested in the Tech trim, get it is soon. That is being eliminated as part of “winning with simplicity”.
Most people following the Lyriq don’t want the Tech, Luxury/Sport 1 trims. One of the main reasons is they don’t include SuperCruise.
The Tech is not chosen very often, which is why it’s being done away with. I work on SuperCruise, so i am happy to see people excited for it.
I never understood why Tech trim was offered in the first place which resembles Luxury and Base trims of past Cadillacs which no one hardly buys. Level 1 should be standard with a choice of Luxury and Sport.
I think it was probably included because of the IRS tax rebate for EVs. The Lyriq wasn’t originally classified as an SUV. It would have had a $60k cap on MSRP to get the credit.
You could confirm a Lyriq above the $80k limit, but you would be smart not too.
Steve, how is it that there is NO Black leather available on the LYRIQ.
Why is it necessary to buy a level 3 LUX/Sport Trim to purchase leather seats at all?
Is there a reason why GM picked Green Leather over Black Leather?
Super Cruise should be phased in to all Cadilliacs
I don’t work on that side of the business, so I really have no idea. I have no interest in an EV, but when i configured one i wondered why i have to have an option package to get a heated steering wheel or power lift gate or adaptive cruise control on a vehicle that starts at north of 60K. Plenty of cheaper EVs that offer this as standard and cost less.
Steve do you know why a car is put on “hold” That’s the latest I’ve been told and once a car is built do you know how long before they ship them out?
Josheph – if they dealer told you it’s on “hold” they are giving you the run around. Once a vehicle comes off the line and passes the safety checks it is marked for shipping. That includes vehicles that are not completely built as long as the missing parts do not impact end of line testing. If for example, the vehicle missing a camera (a known constraint for the Lyriq) it will sit on a lot marked ready to ship until the camera can be installed. Logistics is another known constraint right now. It’s hitting all OEMs, foreign and domestic. The higher the trim/level you chose the more likely you are waiting on parts to be installed before it’s shipped.
where is your dealership
This was Suburban in Troy. You can search any Cadillac dealership in metro Detroit and you are likely to find them.
GM is definitely building a lot of higher trims but they are struggling to ship them. My Luxury 2 was built on 8/11 but it is still in Spring Hill in the yard.
What dealership please
My local dealer also seems to have some in stock. They had 10 on the ground yesterday with 1 in transit. I watch every few days. They do not seem to be moving, unlike the slade-v’s which go from “in-transit” to missing. This is covert in austin. My excitement over the lyriq is waning. If I’m dropping that kind of cash, I want V2H for power outages.
V2H is available on the 2024 Lyriq (see Cadillac news release below) but you need 19.2kw charger option which I ordered on my Luxury 2 over 18 months ago. Still waiting on it to be built.

mkAtx-V2H is available now on 2024 Lyriq. See news release below

my tech was built July 12th and still hasnt shipped as of August 18th. Whats up with this.
Suburban Cadillac in Troy. They still have 16 listed on their website. Suburban in Plymouth has 14, Les Stanford has 12. In Metro Detroit these are pretty easy to find.
I know someone who put in an order, I think for a Luxury 2. He was told it will take a few months.
They are building the, but not shipping them. Mines built but unknown shipping date.
I waited 18 months from the day I lucked out and got one on the first day of being able to score one through a more or less lottery system. Keep the faith it’ll be worth the wait.
Jim — yours may or may not be built. Some cars roll off the assembly line incomplete due to parts shortages, others are done but waiting for shipping. You could fall into either bucket depending on what you ordered. The wait time from here will depend on which bucket you fall into.
I was lucky enough to get a debut edition, it has supercruise which is fun to experience, heated and cooled seats, RWD, massaging seats, the sound system is also very nice, and I also opted for the much better looking optional 22” wheels. Last night a full charge registered 334 miles being available. 0 to whatever performance is very impressive and always fun.
@ John finally a positive comment on the Lyric I also think it’s a very nice looking vehicle although I never drove one I imagine it drives well to.
Most comments are from ppl who don’t own and have never driven one. I have have many new cars over the years but never have I had the number of ppl come up to me and are blown away by the looks of this vehicle. Every time I charge it there are two or three Tesla peeps that walk over and are amazed by this car. Rivian drivers are disappointed that 5hey didn’t know about it and somehow got stuck with a car that resembles an angry appliance. I had a Tesla guy tell me that the car was beautiful and likened his to an ugly computer.
When times go on when more people see the LYRIQ on the road, I anticipate more and more interest in showroom floors for greater sales volume.
I have seen one one time and had not seen one since. It had road presence in traffic at night time.
I wish GM would include heated steering whenever heated front seats are included. I think on the tech level you have to add a significant package to get the heated steering wheel….ug. Also when it comes to mileage of RWD vs AWD, why cant the same specs be met on the Blazer and Equinox EVs or is that TBD still on those? Or is that a matter of battery size on the AWD cady that allows for close mileage?
I test drove a pre owned Debut edition. Outstanding torque, quiet and smooth drive.
There are pre owned Debuts on the market and they have Super Cruise. I have Super Cruise on a 2022 XT6 and really like it. It is a safer way to drive for long distances and urban bumper to bumper. There are many new Tech trim available at dealerships. The Techs don’t have as many features like Super Cruise. The Tech is a pretty good value and the you may get the $7,500 tax credit
I’m waiting on my order for a Luxury 3 AWD.
You test a tech version? Was it RWD?
I test drove the 2023 Debut Edition. It was RWD
My Lyriq Lux 3 AWD is built, waiting for transport. Dealer says 3-4 weeks.
I waited a year to get my CT5. Then I had to wait another year for my heated steering wheel. If Cadillac can’t make their regular cars fast enough, and complete, I certainly wouldn’t want one of their electric cars.
Nothing here unique to Cadillac. Every manufacturer has had parts issues and has also shipped vehicles with certain non safety options temporarily not working
Buying a Cadillac without SuperCruise is defeating the purpose.
“…more 2024 Lyriq trim levels have begun shipping to dealerships across the United States…”.
I’ve heard that before. Too many times. “Soon!!”. Ha! I ordered mine, with a $1,000 deposit the dealer insisted I provide in to make the order, in May, 2022, 15 months ago.
15 months. I can see 2 months, maybe 4, but 15 months AND STILL COUNTING, with NO DELIVERY DATE, is sheer, utter, incompetence. I can’t believe a major manufacturer has experience so many different production problems, lasting so long.
I think GM is on the right track on EV’s and on AV/Driver Assist. It seems to me execution is severely lacking, indicating to me significant, underlying organization/bureaucracy issues. Someone needs to get in there and get things working. I’ve heard of the “work simplification” program (or something like that). We’ll see if that’s a slogan that allows sloppy organization management/execution to continue….
The deposit amount has nothing to do with it. I paid the $100 preorder fee and my Lux 3 AWD is built waiting for shipment. What’s important is what number you are at your dealer and how many allocations they get weekly for which configurations.
You say the deposit amount has nothing to do with it. Yes, it has nothing to do with how quickly the order is filled. But the dealer required I put down the deposit for them to put in my order. So they get a $1,000 interest free loan for 15 months. And I’m out the interest.
Second – what’s important is NOT where I stand with the dealer – what’s important is GM took orders for vehicles they were not prepared to produce. That’s incompetence. If they believed they were ready to produce the vehicles but ran into problems, that’s still incompetence. 15 months later and my vehicle is nowhere in sight. No info on when I might get it. But, they have plenty of really good excuses. They’re good at excuses….
Again – GM has the right intentions with EV/AV. They’re not executing. You can stack plans and intentions from here to the sky but if you can’t get the product out the door it’s all a bunch of hot air. Execute. Get it done. 15 months of excuses, and still waiting….
Perhaps its incompetence. Or perhaps transitioning a major auto company from building and selling a product that they have sold for the last 100 years to building and selling a product that they will sell for the next 100 years is a mammoth undertaking. If building an electric car company was easy, everybody would do it. Even Toyota don’t want to get involved in a big way right now.
I can’t rule out that it is incompetence. However on the flip side if they were ramping and selling big numbers of the Lyric and Hummer EV already, everyone would laud GM as geniuses because they would have the lucrative burgeoning EV market figured out. At least they’ve made a start. Anything that’s worthwhile takes time.
Cillian Leddy… I would much rather GM took their time to roll out and build EV cars and trucks then rush them to market just to have them recalled over something stupid that could have been fixed in the development and learning stages of building an EV car or truck. Remember that over a hundred years ago the very first ICE engines had all kinds of problems to workout and if you ask me as far as power and efficiency we now in 2023 live in the golden age of the ICE car… heck there are 4 cylinder turbos putting out more then a V6 could do just 5- 10 years ago, modern V6 engines with the power and smoothness of a V8… remember it took us a long time to get to this nirvana I suspect that EV cars will grow and mature just as ICE has just maybe a little faster because of modern technology… but Rome wasn’t built in a day !
Beautifully said.
Good morning,
I’d like to know when the Trim 2 and Trim 3 will be available to order and how long will it take to deliver them. The dealerships don’t have answers to these questions. They are apparently not allowed to order them as of yet. When will dealerships be putting in the orders for these trims? I have ordered the 2024 Sport 2, Celestial Metallic and have no idea when my salesperson will be able to order it or how long it’s going to take to get it.
I have an Opulent Blue, Luxury 3 AWD that was built on 8/21 waiting for shipment. So they are building them.
Me too!
