A police chase between a Chevy Equinox crossover and several law enforcement SUVs was caught on camera by a bystander and recently uploaded to social media, showing a dramatic moment where the Chevy Equinox tries to lose the police by darting through a gas station parking lot.
The video is only a few seconds long, and appears as though it was captured in Atlanta, Georgia.
The video opens on an overcast day, with a bystander situated outside a group of gasoline pump stations. The video is obviously shot in a handheld fashion, and is a little shaky. We see a few vehicles parked at the nearby pumps, while some traffic is spotted on the nearby roads.
As the video gets underway, we hear some very loud sirens in the background. We then suddenly see a Chevy Equinox crossover appear in frame, driving at a high rate of speed through the gas station parking lot. The crossover doesn’t slow down as it barrels onto a nearby street, the suspension soaking up the bumps as it crosses the road and heads up some grass in a nearby lot. The camera catches another bystander quickly pushing someone in a wheelchair up a ramp, obviously attempting to get out of harm’s way.
As the camera swings back around towards the pumps, a black Chevy police vehicle crashes into frame, sliding sideways as the massive SUV screeches across the parking lot. The SUV appears as though it’s about to collide with one of the gasoline pumps, but miraculously, it stops just short, narrowly avoiding a potentially massive fireball. The Chevy police vehicle doesn’t stop, with the driver instead nailing the throttle and racing through the parking lot towards the fleeing Chevy Equinox, lights flashing and siren blaring. Apparently, the SUV had a blown tire, resulting in the near-miss with the gasoline pump. Another police SUV quickly follows the first.
It’s a hairy scene, to be sure. Check it out for yourself right here:
