Chevy Colorado Costs More Than Silverado In Mexico

Pickup buyers in Mexico may be surprised to learn that the mid-size Chevy Colorado is in fact more expensive than the full-size Chevy Silverado 1500. As such, customers looking to save some money should consider the Silverado over the Colorado, with the former offering a starting price just under that of the latter pickup truck. Pickup buyers in Mexico also have several other GM truck models to choose from, some of which are even cheaper than the Silverado and Colorado.

The primary reason the mid-size Chevy Colorado is more expensive than the full-size Chevy Silverado 1500 in Mexico comes down to the fact that the Colorado is not available in a basic Work Truck (WT) trim or with a 4×2 drivetrain, both of which are available for the Chevy Silverado 1500. As it turns out, the least-expensive Chevy Silverado 1500 offered in Mexico is the WT Regular Cab with a 4×2 drivetrain, starting at MX$884,900, or US$52,210. Meanwhile, the least-expensive Chevy Colorado on offer is the LT Crew Cab with a 4×4 drivetrain, which starts at MX$936,400, or US$55,250.

The most-expensive Chevy Silverado 1500 offered in Mexico is the Custom Crew Cab with a 4×4 drivetrain, starting at MX$1,070,900, or US$63,185, while the most-expensive Colorado on offer is the ZR2 Crew Cab with a 4×4 drivetrain, starting at MX$1,126,400, or US$66,460. Notably, Chevy rebrands its top trims for the Chevy Silverado 1500 as the Cheyenne in Mexico, with the most-expensive model on offer being the Chevy Cheyenne ZR2 Crew Cab with a 4×4 drivetrain, starting at MX$1,602,900, or US$94,575.

Of course, there are a few models at the other end of the price spectrum that slot in below the Silverado and Colorado. These include the Chevy Montana LT Crew Cab with a 4×2 drivetrain, which starts at MX$510,400, or US$30,115, and the Chevy S-10 Max Regular Car with a 4×2 drivetrain, starting at MX$437,400, or US$23,950.
