Callaway Supercharged C8 Corvette On Display At Corvettes At Carlisle Event

Callaway Cars is headed to the Corvettes at Carlisle event in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and it’s bringing its supercharged Callaway C8 Corvette along for the ride. The supercharged Stingray will be decked out with a variety of custom upgrades, including Callaway’s wide body package. The Corvettes at Carlisle event will run from August 24th to August 26th.

“Spotlighting the debut of the production Callaway Supercharged Corvette C8s, as well as the new C8 Wide Body Package, Callaway staff will be there to show you the latest creations and answer all of your questions,” Callaway Cars writes on social media. In addition to the supercharged Corvette Stingray, Callaway will also display the company’s GMC Sierra, used to tow one of its Corvettes from the company headquarters in Connecticut.

For those readers who may be unaware, Callaway Cars is now offering a new supercharger conversion for the C8 Corvette Stingray. Highlights include three-element TripleCooled intercooler and CalCal powertrain management calibration.

The upgrade boosts the Stingray’s 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine to produce a maximum of 687 horsepower at 6,450 rpm and 643 pound-feet of torque a 4,450 rpm, well above the 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque produced in stock guise. The extra oomph is enough to send the C8 Corvette Stingray to 60 mph in 2.67 seconds, and down the quarter mile in 10.64 seconds at 129 mph, per Callaway’s estimates.

The supercharged C8 Corvette that Callaway cars is bringing will also be equipped with the company’s new wide body kit, which adds some substantial width to the machine. Draped in bright orange paint and adorned with carbon fiber aero and new alloy wheels, this Vette is definitely a looker.

The Corvettes at Carlisle event will take place Thursday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time, at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Daily tickets are $20, while a Spectator Event Pass is $40. Kids ages 12 and under get in free. Parking is $10.

    1. That’s the question we’re all wondering about. Roughly the same performance as the Z06, but with a more street friendly power curve. Should handily out run the E-Ray at speeds over 140 . This will be interesting.

    1. Typically the Callaway cars can be ordered from your Chevrolet dealership and it doesn’t void the warranty, so you’re paying for that as well.

    2. Setting the record straight here, it’s actually our Gen4 supercharger which is a twin-screw design. Previous designs utilized the Eaton TVS rotors, but today’s twin-screw rotor groups are actually more efficient and therefore generate less temperature rise. We are making more power per psi of boost than any previous design. 👍

      1. Don’t fret the haters, Mr Callaway. I’ve loved your takes on the Corvette since the beginning. If I had the money, I’d definitely buy your Vettes! It’s not just the performance, it’s the body treatments. My favourite, the C6. That carbon fibre hood scoop. Almost bought one, here in Australia. Jet stream blue, it was gorgeous. Shoulda, woulda, coulda…

  4. Ok, I get more power is always fun, but the cost to get to 60 a tenth or 2 quicker and .5 second to the quarter does not make sense. If I wanted to get those numbers, perhaps invest in really good tires, at least you would get the 0-60 and maybe half the 1/4. My C8 is fast enough for a street car.

    1. Yeah, i drove a stock c8 on a track in vegas. Plenty fast as it is. The car is definitely faster than I can drive.

    1. Those are good numbers, and more repeatable, but how much was the total cost to get there? In my experience, an amazing tire makes a huge difference in the launch where it’s mostly decided unless there is a huge hp difference.
