The Cadillac CT5 excels in providing a luxurious, relaxing ride. Unfortunately, the driver behind the wheel of this particular CT5 wasn’t all that relaxed when they opted to test the sedan’s performance against the Arkansas State Police, leading law enforcement on a wild chase topping out at over 140 mph, as seen in the following viral video.
The video was captured by a dash cam mounted in an Arkansas State Police cruiser, and shows the chase from the first moments the Cadillac CT5 is pulled over, up to the driver’s arrest. The whole video is a little over 10 minutes long.
As things get under way, we see the police cruiser pull a U-turn on a two-lane highway and begin to tail the Cadillac CT5. The onscreen info indicates that the incident occurred on July 21st, 2023, around 11:55 local time.
After the Cadillac CT5 pulls over, the cruiser parks right behind it. However, the Caddy isn’t stationary for long, and without warning, takes off down the highway.
What follows is a long stretch of straight-line acceleration, with the readout indicated in the bottom left corner showing speeds in excess of 140 mph. The Cadillac CT5 weaves through traffic while the police cruiser tries to keep up, passing the other cars and trucks on the road and even crossing the yellow dividing line into oncoming traffic in pursuit of the suspect.
Around the three-minute mark, the driver inexplicably turns on the hazard lights, which remain on for the remainder of the chase. Water is seen on the windscreen, indicating some light rain is starting to fall.
The chase continues into a residential area, where the Cadillac CT5 driver tries to lose the police by diving through some backyards. We see some locals shocked to see the two vehicles ripping through their grass. Incredibly, no one gets run over in the off-road stunts.

That’s dangerous enough on a divided highway, on a two lane, it’s suicidal. He’s lucky to be going to jail, not the morgue. The cop was well trained to keep his cool.
Love the color-coordinated shorts and shirt.
He said he was a felon. So now he gets another felon charge. He be smart and a good boy his mama say.
That was a poor effort by the Caddy driver/perp…if you’re going to run (in that car), the time was while the cop was still navigating his u-turn… no chance once he’s right behind you.
Love how the cop comments about crashing “my new car bro”…when crashing into the perp’s car was his decision…which seemed unnecessary at that point.
A few years ago, had a chase similarly end right next to my house…cops thought he came into my backyard or basement, but the perp obviously ran on foot and got away. Didn’t get much sleep that night as the chase ended around 2am and the search lasted for hours after that.
Cop was totally reckless. He had the plate on his dash cam. 140 in to a Residential area 80, blowing a stop sign at over 60 then complaining about his new patrol car after purposely running into the Caddy.
That cop put more people at risk by his actions
You can’t arrest a plate.
Seems like the Arkansas State police like to smash up police cars. State must have a lot of money. I have watched videos of them chasing a car then smashing into it.
Listen to that chump a** cop crying about that being his new car, LMAO! Sorry Barney, that’s my and the other hard-working, tax-paying American’s car!!! You’re just lucky this moron didn’t know how to drive that Caddy! 🙄
What kind of cars do the Arkansas state police drive? I was impressed he could reach 140 mph and catch up to the Caddie. Still, taking a huge chance of not killing a lot of people at those speeds.
Was it a V?
Good advertising. Cop in a Charger, looks like.
I had to go to traffic school one time when I was in high school in the mid 70’s in California and the CHP officer teaching the class told use you may outrun my cruiser, but you can’t outrun Motorola. And that was very stupid of the officer chasing the caddy through the back yards were kids could have been playing.
Chris that is a good thought. I never thought of that. Wow young rookie state cop not thinking! Chasing through a back yard where people may be.
