Cadillac CT4, CT5 And XT5 To Get Extended Evaporative Emission Purge Pump Warranty

For certain units of the Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5 and Cadillac XT5, General Motors has issued an extended evaporative emission purge pump warranty period due to the potential for failure.

Certain units of the 2020 Cadillac CT4, 2020 Cadillac CT5 and 2020 Cadillac XT5 may have a condition where the evaporative emission purge pump could fail. If this were to occur, affected units could trip the Malfunction Indicator Light – or the Check Engine Light – and set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).

As a result, General Motors will extend the warranty coverage on affected vehicles from two years or 24,000 miles (whichever comes first) to a period of 15 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date the vehicle was originally placed into service. Notably, California vehicles have a standard warranty period of three years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first).

It’s worth noting that owners who paid for the repair service themselves may be eligible for reimbursement. Additionally, if the evaporative emission purge pump were to fail, GM certified technicians will replace the emissions equipment as necessary, free of charge.
