The GMC Hummer EV Pickup got its big reveal in October of 2020, with the 2024 Hummer EV Pickup introducing a few important updates and changes compared to the preceding 2023 model year. Among these changes is the addition of the 2 and 2X trim levels. Notably, GM Authority has learned that the 2024 Hummer EV Pickup 2X trim level is now in production.
The Hummer EV Pickup 2X and Hummer EV Pickup 2 join the Hummer EV Pickup 3X to round out the trim level lineup for the 2024 model year. The Hummer EV Pickup 2 is offered as the base-level trim, while the Hummer EV Pickup 2X is offered as the mid-range trim. The Hummer EV Pickup 3X serves as the range-topper of the lineup. The GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 is no longer available for the 2024 model year. The Edition 1 was initially set to be exclusive to the 2022 model year, and was later extended into the 2023 model year, but not the 2024 model year.
The Hummer EV Pickup 2X and Hummer EV Pickup 2 are both equipped with two GM Ultium Drive motors, one of which is mounted up front, the other of which is mounted in the rear. A 20-module GM Ultium battery provides the juice, with peak output estimated at 625 horsepower. All GMC Hummer EV variants ride on the GM BT1 platform, with production taking place exclusively at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, previously known as Detroit-Hamtramck.
Production of the 2024 Hummer EV Pickup was initially scheduled to kick off June 23rd, 2023. However, as GM Authority reported previously, the Hummer EV Pickup 2X and Hummer EV Pickup 2 were unavailable at the start of production for the 2024 model year. Now, however, new units of the Hummer EV Pickup 2X are currently rolling off the line in Michigan.

YES! I can’t wait to buy an obscenely expensive, 10,000 pound truck that will sink like a stone the first time it sees soft ground and has a 6,000 pound battery that takes 4 days to charge. SO awesome. Bravo GM.
FYI the 2x is probably closer to 8k pounds. It loses the underbody armor and only has two motor versus three.
In 2003 my 5.3 equipped half ton Avalanche was faster than my rich friends 3/4 ton 502 Anvilanche. Weight makes a big difference. My 2004 Z06 tips the scales at 3020. That and the 6 speed make it a lot more fun to drive than the new mid engined automatic especially on long trips when I can access food and refreshments from the full sized cooler
I highly doubt that this is in production considering they haven’t delivered any 3xs yet. I am currently a 3x reservation holder and the latest update I received was to expect mine in Q4 of 2024.
