2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Offers New Black Exhaust Tip Bezels

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 drops in as the sixth model year for the latest fourth-gen pickup, offering up a few important updates and changes compared to the previous model year. Interestingly, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 also offers new Black exhaust tip bezels for specific trim levels.

The new Black exhaust tip bezels for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 are tagged with RPO code VNI, and are priced at $325. The feature is offered as an LPO-level option, which means they are installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory where the vehicle is initially produced.

Black exhaust tip bezels are available for 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, but are not available for WT, Custom, or ZR2 trim levels. Selecting the Black exhaust tip bezels requires either the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine or the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, and the feature is unavailable for 2024 Chevy Silverado models equipped with either the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine or the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine.

In addition, the Black exhaust tip bezels require the Z71 Off-Road Package (RPO code Z71) when selected for 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT and RST trim levels, and the new bezels require four-wheel drive and the Z71 Off-Road Package (RPO code Z71) when selected for LTZ trim levels with the 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine. Additionally, the Black exhaust tip bezels are not available in combination with the Midnight Edition package (RPO code WJP) on Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and High Country trims, nor are they available in combination with the Rally Edition package (RPO coded STH) on the RST trim.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

  2. Is that supposed to make us feel better about spending $50,000 on a $35,000 truck?

    1. Hope the 2024s gets all the incentives that the 2023 currently have. I just want a 2.7 LT 4 door rwd with a bed liner and remote start for mid $35k.

  3. It’s such a damn pain that on LT and RST… and I think some engines on LTZ, you can only get dual tip exhaust with Z71 suspension package, or with one of the stupid Redline or Rally packages. If you were really offroading and wanted Z71 you wouldn’t want exhaust tips affect your departure.. and I’ve already made it clear the Rally and Redline packages are stupid, lol who wants those goofy vinyl stripes or red hashmarks on black rims. The Ranchos on Z71 suck, and the little skid plates just add weight.

RST should have duals standard as that is ‘supposed’ to be the sporty street trim.

GM packages Z71 in way that most people get stuck optioning it whether they want to or not because it has been, and so it can continue to be, the best selling offroad truck package for like 20 years and they occasionally use that claim to ‘fame’ in commercials.

Z71 is just soft crap suspension and you can’t get the max tow package with it. So you really get pigeon holed leaving you to order either $3500 appearance package.

The dual exhaust should be a standalone option on LT and RST no question

  4. So in addition to having to shell out for the Z-71 and 5.3 engine you also have to shell out another 325 bucks to paint the exhaust tips black. I’ll stick to the far nicer looking chrome tips and use 325 bucks for something actually useful! The dual exhaust should be standard on RST on up and a free standing option for LT.

  7. Still looks like HDMI ports. They need to add black lug nuts for those black wheels too.

  8. Whelp I’m convinced. It may not have 12v auxiliary power ports, comfortable seats, or a proper defogger for the ADAS… but by God it has pre-sooted exhaust tips!
