Very Clean 1992 Geo Metro Convertible Up For Auction

Essentially a rebadged Suzuki Swift, the Geo Metro was an affordable gas-sipper offered in North America for two generations. Today, a seemingly well-kept 1992 Geo Metro LSi Convertible is now posted for auction.
Listed for auction on Bring a Trailer, this particular 1992 Geo Metro was owned by a single family until the current seller acquired the convertible in April 2023. According to a Carfax report, this LSi unit has a clean title, has never been damaged or been involved in an accident, and features service records from Kansas and Missouri.
Finished in white with black pinstripes, and featuring a black convertible top that was replaced back in May 2023, this Geo Metro appears to be in fantastic shape considering its age. However, the seller does note that the front bumper cover is cracked, the rear bumper cover has been touched-up, paint chips are present, and there’s a dent on the left fender.
In true 90s fashion, this little convertible wears 13-inch steel wheels – which include Geo-branded covers – and rolls on 165/70 Cooper Sportmaster GLT tires that are overdue for a replacement. Front disc and rear drum brakes provide the stopping power.
On the inside, the interior is a no-frills affair, with basic amenities like hand-crank side windows, air conditioning, and a factory cassette stereo. The seats feature gray cloth upholstery, along with patterned inserts and teal piping. It’s worth noting that the A/C system was recharged using R134a refrigerant in May 2023.
Despite its age and basic appointments, this Geo Metro LSi is equipped with an airbag steering wheel, as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level.
In regard to powertrain specifications, there isn’t much to write home about. Providing momentum is a naturally aspirated 1.0L I3 gasoline engine that chokes out 55 horsepower and 58 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission
With just under 81,000 miles showing on the odometer, how much do you think this 1992 Geo Metro LSi Convertible is worth? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!

Nice looking car, I would drive it.
Its still a GEO. Pass
I bought an 89 and a 92, both were very good cars. Both were manual transmissions and got outstanding fuel mileage. I researched the cars when they came out from Chevrolet and the automatic transmission killed the fuel mileage big time. I kept a fuel log book and the best mileage I got was 61 mpg when me and my racing buddy went to Gulfport from Baton Rouge and back to drop off some parts. They both averaged mid 40’s around town , back and forth to work etc. Suzuki quality is top notch and my Suzuki motorcycles were noticeably better than my Honda and Kawasaki bikes.
Wow, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a convertible.
$5000.00
$3000
Today’s GEOs are now called Buicks.
…not seeing “dent” in photos, must detract from the value (what’s left of it, that is)
$2000…do I hear $1000?
My wife bought one for her fiftieth birthday! It was a 92 and a automatic, it was red with a black top. Her mother loved it! We stored it at her house in the winter and she treated it like it was hers ! We drove it to Florida one summer and had a blast! It averaged 38 mpg (about the same as my Honda Gold Wing) driving it flat out most of the time. Pretty good for that little three cylinder engine! She paid $9500. Fun little car! Our son-in-law ended up with it and drove the piss out of it until it expired!
I owned 2 of them both 1993s! Great little cars I miss them both! I actually got 50 + mpgs with the 5 speed! I wish GM would bring back an affordable convertible again
This was on bring a trailer a few months ago. The seller backed out at the last minute and cancelled the bidding because it only went for 5000. Watch out if you are the buyer of this.
