A year after the updated crossover was leaked by the Asian country’s authorities, General Motors has just officially launched the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer in China.
The automaker launched the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer in China on July 10th in the city of Shanghai, ushering in the mid-cycle update for the fourth model year of the Blazer’s extended-length configuration that’s built and sold exclusively in that country. The three-row 2023 Blazer debuts an updated front-end design, new rear lighting, and several trim upgrades to stay competitive.
Most notably, the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer launches in China with a lineup comprised of four distinctive variants spread across base, Redline, RS and RS White Night Edition trim levels – the latter being first introduced in the Chinese market for the 2022 model year. Each trim level includes its own unique look and styling cues to meet the various preferences of target customers.
The three-row, 2+3+2-seat configuration comes standard on the range-topping RS trim of the refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer, while remaining optional on base and Redline trims. The crossover’s Chevy Camaro-inspired interior design remains exactly the same as before, receiving only slight upholstery trim updates, as well as more standard equipment and the latest infotainment system from Chevrolet in China.
Mechanically, the only Chinese-market 2023 Chevy Blazer powertrain offering remains the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4 engine rated at up to 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild hybrid system. The Blazer’s base and Redline variants are equipped as standard with a front-wheel drivetrain, with both RS trims offering an Intelligent AWD system with four drive options.
The refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer is now available across the Bow Tie brand’s entire dealer network in China, being Chevrolet’s largest crossover in the local lineup, and its flagship model as well. The Blazer for the Chinese market is manufactured at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant, where its platform partners Cadillac XT6 and the midsize Buick Enclave are also produced. Here is pricing for the 2023 Blazer in China:
- 2023 Blazer base: 194,900 yuan (about $26,950 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2023 Blazer Redline: 229,900 yuan ($32,790 USD)
- 2023 Blazer RS: 264,900 yuan ($36,630 USD)
- 2023 Blazer RS White Night Edition: 266,900 ($36,910 USD)

A Lot Cheaper over in China than here in the US?
The interior design is ghastly!
So is the rest of it. It looks like the roof is sliding off.
People will buy it anyway.
GMC learned their lesson with the current Acadia going back to 2018 when they shortened the vehicle while Chevrolet and Buick left their large SUV’s alone. They have now decided to switch back to a longer Acadia with a 4rd row designed for adults. Now the Blazer is a couple of inches shorter than the Acadia and they are building another vehicle with a 3rd row for 2 small children. They moved the center row way up in the image to make it look like a roomy 3rd row. GM has lost their minds between poor design choices like this, and every excuse in the book for not being able to supply vehicles to their dealers. Now it is logistics? Shortages of rail cars mostly. do they expect us to believe that the rail car companies sent their rail cars we used in 2019 and 2020 to the scrap yard? Doubtful. Just piss poor planning on the part of GM to insure the required rail cars are at the production plants in a timely manner to allow for shipment as vehicles are produced. As I understand it GM must submit orders for rail cars about 90 days prior to needing them. Not rocket science, but they still manage to screw it up.
Rick, gm does not sell the Traverse, (or Tahoe or Suburban) in China, so they have 3 rows in the Blazer. Here the Blazer will remain a 2 row vehicle.
