The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 is now eligible for dealer retrofits of the missing  Front and Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD5) or missing Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD7), thanks to GM adding more vehicle models to Customer Satisfaction Program N222375790.
The park assist retrofit is now available for 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks built without the feature because of the COVID-19 related semiconductor chip shortage. The current retrofit does not concern the pre-refresh 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited, which already has its own retrofit program under way.
The Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD7) was normally optional on the Pro, SLE and Elevation trim levels of the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. Affected trucks that were produced without this feature functional are indicated by the RPO code 00Y, which appears on their window sticker.
As for the Front and Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD5), General Motors active safety technology was normally optional on the SLT and AT4 trims and standard on the AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels of the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500.
The number of refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 units for which the park assist feature was under constraint when they were produced has not been revealed by The General. Dealerships can use the GM Global Warranty Management system to confirm a vehicle is affected and retrofit-eligible, looking for the “Open” notation on the Investigate Vehicle History screen.
Constraint on the availability of park assist, both rear or front and rear, affected other GMC models produced during approximately the same timeframe. These include the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited as noted, plus the 2022 GMC Yukon.
Owners of affected refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 units can get the park assist feature correctly activated, free of charge, at qualified GM dealers. The fix involves replacing the park assist control module and setting up the serial data gateway module to restore park assist function. The free retrofit is offered through July 31st, 2026.
Dealers were instructed to tell buyers about the constraint and plans for a future retrofit at the time of the truck’s original purchase. Affected GMC Sierra owners can contact GMC customer service at the telephone below, referencing the customer satisfaction program number, if they have questions about the retrofit:

Any news on a 2022 Tahoe LT retrofit? As usual GM customer service and dealer are clueless.
WMB
After one year, I have all my retrofits complete. Cooling seat blowers 8 months later, then parking sensors one year later. All good and I still love my AT4 beast with 6.2!! Zero regrets aside from poor GM communication on the retrofits.
Still do not have all my retrofits and going on two years for my 2022 AT4 Very poor customer service. GM and dealer.
took my 2022 Sierra SLT into dealer 8/16/2023 after having taken delivery of it in 5/31/2022 to have the front and rear park module installed. like the truck very much, it sure took a long time to get it fixed but its ok now. it also had front seat blower installed. 4/19/2023. it also had a safety recall for daytime running lights. I think it now a complete truck like I ordered it. what an ordeal to go thru to buy a truck. it will not happen again. but if you are waiting to have your missing F and R park installed, they are starting to come thru, good luck.
Dealer installed my retrofit and about a week later on a road trip it was discovered my cruise, lane keep assist and auto-dimming headlights no longer worked. Took it in to assess and they still have it trying to figure out the cause. Anyone else dealt with this?
