Customers eager to get their hands on a 2023 Chevy Tahoe or 2023 Chevy Suburban in Auburn Metallic paint will need to act fast, as the last order cycle for the paint color is quickly approaching. It’s unclear if Auburn Metallic will return for the 2024 model year. Auburn Metallic is available across the 2023 model-year lineup for both SUVs.
According to GM Authority sources, the last order cycle for 2023 Chevy Tahoe and 2023 Chevy Suburban SUVs in Auburn Metallic paint (paint code G48) is August 3rd, 2023. Auburn Metallic will be built out after the week of September 18th, 2023.
Auburn Metallic is currently available for all trim levels of the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and 2023 Chevy Suburban at no extra charge. It’s unclear at the moment if the hue will return for the 2024 model year or if it will be replaced, as the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban will both introduce a mid-cycle refresh with a long list of updates and changes.
Auburn Metallic was first offered for the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in conjunction with the 2022 model year, arriving as one of three new colors. The other two new colors introduced for the 2022 model year were Dark Ash Metallic and Evergreen Gray Metallic. Auburn Metallic presents a rich, ruddy brown hue that looks unique, yet understated.
As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and 2023 Chevy Suburban offer three engine options total, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine. The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
Looking ahead, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban will both introduce mid-cycle enhancements that will include revised exterior styling, a new interior, new tech, and the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine.
