GM Dealers To Install Missing 2023 Chevy Blazer Front Plate Brackets

GM has launched a customer satisfaction program to retrofit certain 2023 Chevy Blazer units missing the front plate bracket (RPO code VK3) they were supposed to include at production.
All of the affected 2023 Chevy Blazer units were shipped from the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico without the necessary component installed.
The Front license plate bracket is a $40 option which is normally forced on orders where the ship-to state requires a front license plate. The bracket attaches with bolts and large domed washers to appropriately placed mounting holes at the vehicle’s nose.
In total, GM built 339 units of the 2023 Chevy Blazer with a missing front plate bracket. The General advises its dealers to not order the bracket as shelf stock because of the small number of affected vehicles. Instead, the dealership should wait to identify an actually affected vehicle before ordering the necessary parts.
Dealers can confirm a specific 2023 Chevy Blazer is involved in the retrofit program through use of the Global Warranty Management system. Affected Blazers are marked as “Open” on the system’s Investigate Vehicle History screen.
The customer satisfaction program is available through July 31st, 2025. Attachment of the bracket requires approximately 12 minutes of labor by dealership service personnel.
Owners of affected 2023 Chevy Blazer units can reach Chevy customer service at the phone below, referring to the customer satisfaction program number, if they have additional questions or concerns:

Production of the 2023 Chevy Blazer is scheduled to end on July 8th, 2023. Since the nameplate received a refresh for the 2023 model year, the 2024 Chevy Blazer will introduce only a few updates and changes compared to the previous model year. The model year will receive a new paint color, Riptide Blue Metallic, to replace Blue Glow Metallic (color code GHT).
The 2024 Blazer will be the sixth model year of the crossover’s current generation. GM Authority previously reported that start of regular production (SORP) of the 2024 Chevy Blazer is slated for July 10th, 2023. Production will continue to take place at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Blazer was also recently uncovered by GM Authority, including MSRP details for all four trim levels, the 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier trims. Pricing starts at $36,795 for the 2LT, at $40,695 for the 3LT, and at $44,195 for both the RS and Premier trim levels.

My free red state doesn’t require a front plate so those brackets stay in the trunk.
My freer red state does…
States could save a ton of money by not requiring front license plate.
States generate revenue from license plates. They literally cost the state a couple of dollars to make, and then they charge the owner of the vehicle 50x [or more in some states] that amount to acquire the plate. If the states that required a front plate stopped, they would actually lose revenue from those plates. Once a government entity starts generating revenue from a particular program or requirement, they will never give it up.
