Cadillac Ranks Below Average In J.D. Power Summer 2023 U.S. Website Evaluation Study

In the most recent rendition of the J.D. Power Website Evaluation Study, Cadillac was ranked just below the luxury segment’s average, indicating that the luxury marque’s website needs to improve in order to elevate the customer’s browsing experience.

According to the J.D. Power U.S. Manufacturer Summer 2023 Website Evaluation Study, Cadillac was ranked twelfth overall with a score of 721 out of a possible 1,000 in the luxury segment. This places the luxury marque between rivals Maserati and Tesla, which each earned a score of 722 and 720, respectively.

Notably, the segment average was 724, while Audi and Volvo were both placed at the bottom of the list with a score 689 each.

“Website satisfaction can be volatile and automotive websites are not immune to changing preferences,” J.D. Power Digital Solutions Director Jon Sundberg was quoted as saying. “However, manufacturers have shown to be very agile when it comes to website design and ensuring their sites meet modern standards, more so than many other industries, as exemplified through the study data.”

For reference, the first rendition of this study was released in 1999, has been issued on a semi-annual basis since, and examines customer satisfaction while shopping for a new vehicle on automotive manufacturer websites. The latest version of the study is based on survey responses collected from 10,202 new-vehicle shoppers who indicate that they will be in the market for a new vehicle sometime in the next two years. For the Summer 2023 edition, responses were fielded between April 2023 and May 2023.

These responses were focused primarily on four key metrics. Listed in order of importance, these metrics include: information / content, visual appeal, navigation, and speed. The responses were then used to calculate an overall satisfaction score for each automotive manufacturer studied.

  1. Yup – the Black and White LYRIQ website most high schoolers would be ashamed to say they had a help in designing it…. Beyond Amateurish.

  2. I have tried to use the Lyriq and Chevrolet sites looking for end of lease and related information before deciding whether to buy or lease.

They are both “highly produced” with well edited skilled camera work, but unfortunately are difficult to use to find information and often run you around in circles.

They are more like TV commercials with little thought to why people are coming to the website. I suspect that people have narrowed down their choices to just a few vehicles and are looking for information to make their final choice.

GM has taken the road of form over substance and people don’t like it….thus the low scores.
