A Behind The Scenes Look At The 2024 Corvette E-Ray Photo Shoots: Video

There’s no question that GM sports cars like the 2024 Corvette E-Ray look great in a variety of lighting conditions and backgrounds, as GM Authority’s real world photos prove. That said, there’s an undeniable magic to the highly polished official press photos we get direct from GM. Of course, making those press photos come to life is no small feat, as demonstrated in a series of recent social media posts.

Coming to us from the folks behind the official GM Design Instagram account (@generalmotorsdesign), the posts provide an inside look at the work of the GM Design Global Creative Visualization Team, which “is comprised of visual professionals from all of the disciplines of Design and Creative Direction, Motion and Still Photography, Photo Retouchers, CGI artists and Storytellers.”

The posts look at two closed-course shoots, including a night shoot on a bridge, and a daytime shoot on a winding two-lane backroad. The night shoot plays with light, shadow, and motion blur to lend the 2024 Corvette E-Ray a sense of drama and romance, with the blue and silver paint finishes popping out of the background with a cool, collected poise.

The second post shows the 2024 Corvette E-Ray against a forest backdrop, with brightly colored leaves offsetting the dark, damp pavement and enhancing the contrast with the dark shadows set against the road. To give the photos even more sense of motion and contrast, as well as to highlight the E-Ray’s all-wheel drive capabilities, the team sprayed the road with water, making it look as though it recently rained. Combined with the golden light of the setting sun, the photos are definitely quite impressive.
