GM is making two new 22-inch wheels available to order on certain trims of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD truck, adding fresh gloss black and high-gloss black wheel options.
These new wheel choices are dealer-installed or LPO options for the 2024 GMC Sierra HD and are not installed on the vehicle at the time that it prepared for shipment from the factory.
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD already had a long list of available wheel sets buyers could choose from when ordering. Now, GM has raised the number to 15 with the addition of the following pair of new wheel choices:
- 22-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (RPO code SBL)
- 22-inch High Gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined accents (RPO code SAK)
Both wheel sets, including the 22-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheel set (SBL) and the 22-inch High Gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined accents (SAK) are optionally available on the AT4, Denali and Denali Ultimate trims of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD, priced at $3,095. They are not available at all on the Pro, SLE, SLT and AT4X trim levels.
Since both wheels are LPO items, the factory attaches transit wheels to the 2024 GMC Sierra HD before shipping it to the dealership where the vehicle was ordered. The factory also sets alignments specs to 22 inches.
When the GMC Sierra HD arrives at the dealership, service personnel remove the transit wheels and ship them back to the factory. The selected choice of the two new wheel sets is then installed on the truck before it is delivered to the customer.
Both of these two wheel options cannot be combined with the Max Trailering Package (RPO code NHT).
GM introduced the mid-cycle refresh for the Sierra HD nameplate’s fifth generation in the 2024 GMC Sierra HD. The truck’s exterior got a revised front bumper, fascia, and grille, plus six fresh choices in the exterior color palette. The interior is also refreshed and the 2024 model year gets more trailering technology as well.
Motivation for the 2024 GMC Sierra is provided as standard by the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which continues to develop 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Optionally, buyers can select an uprated version of the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine cranking out 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.
Under the body panels, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD rides on a more-capable version of the GM T1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

Proof that at least a decent amount of the people buying these mortgages on wheels aren’t even using them for their intended purposes.
Worst looking wheel I have ever seen!
For weeks now, there has been no news/updates/comments about the 2024 GMC SIERRA 1500. Why???????????????
It was supposed to begin production on July 17.
What’s up? 😎
I don’t know why the manufacturers insist on making the wheels bigger and bigger. Less rubber between the rim and the road sure makes for a rougher ride!
Amen, I like a larger wheel for the soul purpose of putting a larger brake underneath. Anything bigger is just silly. While we’re on the subject the 2500’s and up need a steel wheel. The gaudy looking aluminum ones now are cracking and just like everything else are stupid expensive to replace.
