Recently revealed to the public by GM, the 2024 Chevy Traverse includes a large number of standard safety features. These include at least nine different technologies as standard across all trims that were not even optionally available on the 2023 Chevy Traverse.
The following table shows all the standard safety features of the 2024 Chevy Traverse compared to the 2023 model year, along with an optional safety feature added to the all-new crossover.

Notably, in addition to gaining nine new safety features absent from its 2023, second-generation predecessor, the third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse takes five more features that were optional on certain trims only – Safety Alert Seat (RPO code HS1), the HD Rear Vision Camera (RPO code UVB), Adaptive Cruise Control (RPO code KSG), HD Surround Vision (RPO code UV2), and Rear Pedestrian Alert (RPO code UKK) – and makes them standard across all trim levels.
Three items on the 2023 Traverse safety feature list do not transfer over to the 2024 Chevy Traverse. However, in each of these instances, GM opted to include a similar, but better system, as part of the overall upgrade and overhaul both the exterior and interior of the 2024 Traverse gets as the first model year of the new third generation.
Front Pedestrian Braking is replaced by Front Pedestrian Braking with Bicyclist Detection (RPO code UK1), the HD Rear Vision Camera (UVB) replaces its ordinary Rear Vision Camera counterpart, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RPO code UFB) succeeds the Rear Cross Traffic Alert feature.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Traverse will be exclusively motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine generating 315 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, a 19 percent torque increase relative to the outgoing 3.6L V6 LFY engine. The crossover offers maximum trailering of 5,000 pounds or 2,268 kilograms, identical to second-gen vehicles.
An eight-speed automatic transmission carries power to the wheels. Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2024 Traverse and all-wheel drive is available as an option.
The long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, upgraded with the Global B digital architecture and several other new features, provides structure to the 2024 Chevy Traverse.
Production is scheduled to launch in December 2023 at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

The Traverse was a really good-looking SUV, but they ruined it. The 2024 is just plain ugly, not as UGLY as a Lexus, but pretty damn ugly!!!

RS is a street package, I believe you’re talking about the z71.
The RS package really should offer 20″ wheels in some way. I have no interest in 22’s myself.

Great, more expensive for things that just get in the way 🙄 rental Toyota’s have almost killed me twice with their nanny monitors while trying to oass oversized loads and driving theough construction zones
I hope I can disable some of those monitors, I have been driving since 1975 and I’m pretty good at it.
If GM hold true with their software as they have for the past 20 years, these can be disabled with Tech2 at the dealership. Ive dissabled the auto locks on my farm truck when its BCM blew out.
Your age and insistence on not needing help is exactly what scares me the most about driving near you on the road. Born around 1969 I take it, puts you in your mid 60’s at the youngest.

While many don’t want all of these nannies, the truth of the matter is that GM is playing catch-up. So is Ford and it’s disgusting. When safety is the subject.
I really like the 3.6L V6 in our Blazer, I often get over 30 MPG on trips. I’m not a fan of a boosted 4 cylinder, even if its slightly better (on paper) I doubt it is in the real world.
Honestly, love the look here. I’m waiting on the new Acadia. Everything looks solid, since it’s basically moving tech used in Caddy for the last two years. My main concern is the 4cyl. I’m not against this move, given the torque, but I’m just wondering what the powerband for the engine looks like compared to the V6. (If I’m saying that correctly). It might not be more efficient for how I drive my vehicles. For a vehicle this heavy, got a few concerns, but if it works out then it’s a contender for me.
Happy with my 2023 Traverse, glad I didn’t wait to order. Don’t mind the new front, but not a fan of Turbo Engines in 3 row family haulers, or pickup trucks, for that matter. And those tail lights have to be designed by an Ultimate Warrior fanboy.
It’s true what was said in an earlier comment about the General playing catch-up, safety-wise. My kids’ 2022 Nissan Kicks has way more safety/tech stuff on it standard than my Traverse does.
