The 2024 Chevy Tahoe is poised to introduce a refresh for the current fifth-generation SUV, offering up a wealth of updates and changes. These include new exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, a new powerplant, and new tech goodies. Now, a prototype of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe Premier has been spotted out and about testing, giving us another early look at the SUV’s forthcoming mid-cycle enhancement.
This particular example is painted in what appears to be Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W), while large sections of the front and rear are covered in black-and-white camouflage. Despite the covers, we see a two-tier lighting setup for the front fascia. Also known as Chevy’s “High Brow” design, this two-tier lighting setup is expected to be reserved for the higher trims in the 2024 Chevy Tahoe lineup, including Premier and High Country.
Moving into the sides, we find a set of power-retractable assist steps, which are included as optional on Chevy Tahoe Premier and Chevy Tahoe High Country trim levels for the current 2023 model year. We also spot a set of 20-inch polished aluminum wheels (RPO code RD2), the same rollers equipped by the 2023 Chevy Tahoe Premier, while up top, the fin antenna design has been somewhat toned down.
In the rear, we find a set of boomerang taillights, which wrap into the rear quarter panel in a manner similar to the taillights equipped by the Chevy Silverado EV. It should also be noted that there is no camouflage around the rearmost pillars, suggesting these bits won’t be redesigned in the refresh.
Final details include a set of rounded exhaust tips, as compared to the square exhaust tips equipped by the 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country prototype that GM Authority reported on yesterday.
As for the bits left unseen, the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe will introduce a revised center stack and a larger infotainment screen, while the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine will arrive as a replacement for the optional 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax offered currently. As GM Authority covered previously, production of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe is set to kick off in November.

Hoping they do a better interior redesign than the Traverse, although the screen looks similar. I don’t need dissapointed a second time….
The new Traverse looks great. No longer targeted at just a minivan replacement, the Z71 is a great option and can be used on more than cement and asphalt. The RS is sporty alternative.
As an older male who’s been a car guy since the 70s I can’t wait to grab one, hopefully they will be around awhile and not quickly phased out for an EV.
Just another Thomas
So when can the 2024 Yukon and Tahoe be ordered?
Order entry for us dealers starts in September. If you near me in metro Detroit, MI and are interested in ordering, feel free to shoot me an email: coleg(at)genesischevy.com
Lance. Do not hesitate to take Cole up on his offer. He put me in my amazing 2023 Corvette Stingray in January. He and his dealership are fantastic. He will treat you honestly and be there throughout your order and delivery process.
I’m probably the minority here for being concerned or annoyed… But how long do these LED day running lights last? I’ve seen post about like the Sonata strip that runs into the hood costing like $400 and then like $1200 with labor. There’s so many vehicles now with these “pretty” stacked lights. Used to think Audi lights were stupid expensive. But the latest trend with the automakers is just as bad
Then with Chevy and Buick doing these dumb day running lights and the regular lights being in the bumper. I can imagine these being a pain to change even if it’s every other year. Taking of the wheel liner or the bumper is nuts for something that the average person should be able to do themselves w.o taking half the car apart
Anything can go bad at any time, but they should last 5 – 10 years minimum.
Every other year?? These things last longer than the old halogen lights cars used to come with
Look at the new pickups, new traverse and you’ll see the same styling for dash layout and int/ext lighting that will be on the 24 modes .
