The 2024 Chevy Tahoe is set to usher in a mid-cycle refresh packed with updates and changes for the fifth-gen SUV. Among these are design changes inside and out, a new diesel engine, and new technology features. Now, GM Authority spy photographers have once again caught the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country testing as a camouflaged prototype.
This particular example is painted in Black (paint code GBA), with specific body panels and exterior features obscured by a combination of swirling black-and-white camo and heavy vinyl. For those readers who may be unaware, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe, nor is it the first time we’ve seen the refreshed High Country trim level. Nevertheless, these new spy photos provide further insight and detail on what to expect from the upcoming SUV.
As covered previously, the 2024-model-year refresh will introduce a new “High Brow” two-tier lighting treatment for the Chevy Tahoe (and by extension, the longer-wheelbase Chevy Suburban) that splits the daytime runnings lights (DRLs) and / or turn signals from the primary headlights, thus creating two distinct lighting sections on either side of the front fascia. The two-tiered lighting is expected to be included higher in the trim level lineup, while lower trim levels will include a more traditional headlight configuration similar to that of the pre-refresh models.
The new layout is somewhat visible under the camo covering this particular prototype, while the rear end also provides a little more detail with regard to the shape of the taillights. Interestingly, this refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country prototype appears to have a taillight design similar to that of the Chevy Silverado EV.
Another notable feature of this prototype are the fixed assist steps, seen between the large alloy wheels. A set of optional power-retractable assist steps will be offered as well, while wheel sizing will range as high as 24 inches in diameter.
Further updates will include an overhauled cabin with a larger infotainment screen and revised center stack, while under the hood, the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe will introduce the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine as a replacement for the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax offered currently.
Look for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe to start rolling off the line this November, per an exclusive GM Authority report.

When you are king of the fullsize SUV segment by a landslide you can’t slow down. I will add though, it is silly to not have hybrid trucks and SUVs. You gain performance, you gain MPG for the both the consumer and fleet avg, and they are better for the environment than both ICE and EV
@MikeRR
Why would they waste R&D money on Hybrids when they have (Full size Trucks) and will have BEV versions to go along with their ICE versions.
From 2008 to 2013 the Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade were offered as Hybrids. Few bought them.
Those weren’t real hybrids! They were garbage…pretending to be hybrids
I think he’s talking about phev hybrids and not hev hybrids , big difference .
Would love to see the new small block V8s in these refreshes.
A lot more technology in them will mean prices are going to RISE!! I still can’t believe people pay these outlandish prices for them.
I bought my wife’s brand new Traverse Redline edition for $49k out the door. A new RST Tahoe was $87K. I almost could have bought two Traverses for price of Tahoe and you aren’t gaining that much room, and definitely aren’t getting better gas mileage. My Traverse get 25+ on the highway.
All ill say is that I’m still waiting on a supercharged lt4 powered Tahoe ss

Wow, Can’t wait to see just how much this will cost us. Wife has had a Tahoe now for ever. She just loves them But, they keep costing us more than a small house. How about ala cart ordering process? The consumer then, can order just what they need/want. Back in the day, we could order a truck with the way we wanted. Not what GM said we wanted. I say this new version will be $100,000 +. What say the rest of you?
Maybe they should drop the “Country” part and just call it “High Price”.
I hope they didn’t change it too much, I like the current design.
i dont like they all look the same from the front from what we are seeing. they are doing the audi thing which is unfortunate. we will see just how similar they will all look soon enough
I hope they don’t ruin it with the 4 cylinder engine.
Any word on when this will be revealed? I know Nov is when it’ll start hitting lots but when is the reveal???? The 24’ Lexus GX right now proves to be a better deal for the same price, yet it comes with all the capabilities of the Z71/AT4 at base trim. Plus a better dealership experience.
I’m looking at 2 more years with my truck so bring it on!
I always thought the exterior was fine. I agree with a previous post that the rear suspension is ridiculously low. But what really irks me is the inventory control that GM is placing on these rigs. The MSRPs are very high, and what they want for the Yukon Denali Ultimate for what they add over a standard Denali is just stupid money. However, a sufficient number of people are willing to pay it to satisfy GM.
Having said that, I still hope they are able to stuff the diesel into the Yukon AT4 and that they update the interior in line with other GM trucks. That might get me to buy at MSRP for the first time in my life.
