2024 Chevy Colorado To Offer Expanded Availability Of 11-Inch Driver Information Center

General Motors unveiled the 2023 Chevy Colorado last year, debuting an all-new third generation complete with new exterior styling, an overhauled interior, and a new powertrain. The 2024 Chevy Colorado follows as the second model year for the third-gen pickup, introducing only a handful of changes and updates. Notably, GM Authority has learned that these include expanded availability of the 11-inch Driver Information Center.

As it turns out, the 2024 Chevy Colorado will offer the 11-inch Driver Information Center (RPO code URF) as either optional or standard for the Trail Boss trim level and up. As such, that includes Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

Previously, the 2023 Chevy Colorado only offered the 11-inch Driver Information Center as standard on the ZR2 trim level. The 11-inch Driver Information Center was unavailable for the rest of the lineup. Instead, all models (with the exception of the ZR2) were equipped as standard with the 8-inch diagonal fully digital display (RPO code URO) for the 2023 model year.

Check out the table below for more information regarding availability of the two fully digital displays offered in the 2023 Chevy Colorado:

One of the most important updates introduced by the 2024 Chevy Colorado is the addition of the new ZR2 Bison, which incorporates a wealth of off-roading upgrades sourced from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). Highlights include Boron steel skid plates and rocker panels, Multimatic front and rear Jounce Control Dampers and DSSV dampers, and a standard bed-mounted spare tire.

Standard spec also includes the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo High-Output gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Elsewhere in the lineup, the third-gen Chevy Colorado offers the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, as well as the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B Turbo Plus gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque.

An updated variant of the GMT 31XX platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

  1. As long as I have a nice little digital screen displaying my speed, I don’t care too much about anything else, but it’s clear that screen sizes will continue to grow. Knowing this, I’m surprised GM hasn’t made the 11-inch size standard across all trims. That’s a stark oversight.

    1. Lol ok “stark oversight” is a bit much. Model/option tiering makes 10000% sense. And that percentage is as exaggerated as your stark comment

      1. It does sound a bit much, but I’m just an average joe and GM has had years to see this trend develop. It’s only a matter of time before a competitor does this, and then GM’s vehicles will be perceived as “old” rather quickly (as has happened to vehicles with only 4.2” and 5” inch screens). It certainly feels antiquated to make people upgrade trims for an extra 3 inches of screen. If people are that desperate for bigger screens, they’ll switch to competitors who will offer it for less. We’ve got to move away from this model where you pay by the inch.

Yes, I’m rather passionate about this. 🙂

        1. To be honest i have a 2016 Colorado Z71 and the screen is much smaller than anything on the new trucks. I have never had a concern with the ability to access information.
Screen size in vehicles is like the next gen I-Phone , always getting bigger. Soon you will need a pack pack to carry them. Same in vehicles, how much screen is too much? Do large screens actually help the driver or are they a driving distraction and make it harder to get the info especially with the larger screen glare??
Some of the info screens are so large its like watching TV while driving, talk about safety and driver distractions !!!

          1. That’s absolutely a valid position to have. The only concern I have is younger people who grew up with screens for 8 hours a day are going to evaluate vehicles based on that, especially as vehicles get smarter and more controls are passed to the screens. But surely there can be accommodation for everyone. Perhaps future vehicles will move to a modular system where the customer can choose a standardized screen size on any trim (5”, 8”, 11” or 16”, etc.) and it snaps into place on the dash.

  2. What is it with those ugly fender flares. Can’t you change them for 2024

  3. Give the Trail Boss a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob option and fog lights and I’ll buy one. I don’t care as much about the screen

    1. All I really wanted was a Trail Boss with Bose but I ended up ordering a ZR2. I’m starting to think I won’t take it depending on what the 2024 Trail Boss offers. I’m guessing the 2024 order guide will be out before GM ships my 2023.

      1. GM will probably reissue or change the VIN numbers on all those 2023 models sitting in the lots at the plant. The 2023 model will then be 2024 models since there will be little change to the 2024.

  4. I am not a fan of putting 800 functions on the dash screen, and I certainly don’t want to drive something that looks like they glued a flat screen TV to the dash pad. One of the MANY reasons I drove 160 miles from
home to get one of the last 2022 Colorados instead of buying a 23′. The 2022 may only have a 7″ screen, but at least it looks like it BELONGS there instead of something tacked on in a cut rate auto accessory shop.

  5. Hope they do the same with the GMC AT4, which i’m sure they will.

  7. No thanks, glad it’s optional, I don’t want a big screen bolted to the dash of my truck!

    1. Yeah I agree, I prefer switches and knobs, they are safer and much easier to use.

    2. It’s the instrument gauges, not a screen on the dash

  9. The bigger screen looks good. It’s that ugly dash that downgrades the interior. Why wasn’t this a copy of the full sized trucks but sized to fit. That would’ve been impressive looking.
Why do we need things that will cost money as they age like the multiple 4×4 modes. Just give me a reliable 2 wheel drive / 4 wheel drive button. Not multiple 4×4 BS that will have a clutch pack fail in the transfer case. Leave that stupidity to Ford.
The screens look great but the dash is UGLY. I guess all the money was spent on the sheet metal.

  10. I like the 203 AT4 and the Zr2. Both have a bigger screen. I say that’s enough. To get any bigger will take away from a TRUCK!! :).
The engine on the smaller truck, GM should have put a V6, not a 4-cylinder Turbo. Men like a powerful engine and when you say 4-Cylinder it makes people cringe.

    1. It’s the gauge cluster that’s optional as an 11″, not the infotainment screen. I drive a Duramax, love my power, which is why I never bought the weak V6 Colorado ZR2.. This little 4 cylinder has more power and torque than the v6 and that’s one reason I ordered one.

  11. I looked at and drove every current mid size truck before I bought my 2023 Z71. This Z71 is better in every category that I need it for….looks better, rides better and has better features then all the current others. The dash and infotainment screen are far above all others, it’s easy to reach and work everything…the ergonomics are great. I was previously driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The difference between this 2023 Colorado and the 2022 Tacoma seems like 10 years of advancement.
The dash and complete interior in the 2023 Colorado is light years ahead of the current, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier. I’m looking forward to see how the new 2024 Ranger and 2024 Tacoma compare. As of now you would have to be a fool not to buy a Colorado or Canyon over the rest of 2023 competitors.

  12. wonder if the 23’s will be upgradable to get the bigger screen. I would think it would just be a software thing. seems like all the screens look the same its just the sides of the colorados are cut off. Hopefully.

  13. I own a 2020 colorado lt and a 2022 Silverado trail Boss and I’m happy with the smaller screen on the dash board I ll get what I need from both of them, I have admit that the new Colorado the body style doesn’t look rugged as the 2022 or the 2020. Both of them are great trucks though American pride

  14. Instead of worrying about bigger screens they need to offer the long box version again.. Want to replace 2018 but the short box just isn’t a viable option for what I need my truck to do.
