2024 Chevy Camaro To Get Condensed Production Run

The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro is headed for the door, with the 2024 model year serving as the nameplate’s last hurrah, at least in its current form. As such, the 2024 Chevy Camaro doesn’t offer several of the options and packages offered previously. With all that in mind, it should also come as no surprise that the 2024 Chevy Camaro will get a condensed production run as well.

Badging on the Chevy Camaro.

According to GM Authority sources, the production run for the 2024 Chevy Camaro will be shorter than a normal production run, with fewer units planned. In addition, no fleet orders or government orders will be offered, nor will there be any GM employee discounts available.

Per a GM Authority exclusive, production of the 2024 Chevy Camaro will kick off on August 7th, 2023. Production will once again take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Indeed, the 2024 Chevy Camaro seems to be quickly wrapping up the sixth-generation sports car. Among the options and packages no longer offered for the 2024 model year is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, several paint colors, the lowered suspension and sway bar options, the 20-inch Caliente wheels, and the base 1LS trim level.

Despite the plethora of options and packages that got the axe, the 2024 Chevy Camaro still offers a few unique items to entice customers, including a pair of special edition variants. One of these variants is the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition. Offered on LT/RS, LT1, SS, and Z71 trim levels in North America, the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector’s Edition pays homage to the first-generation Chevy Camaro with a variety of styling upgrades, including unique Panther Black Metallic paint and Panther Matte Black paint, as well as accent striping, 20-inch wheels, aero enhancements, painted brake calipers, black lug nuts, and more.

There’s also the 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition, which gives a hat tip to the NASCAR Garage 56 Camaro that competed in the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. Upgrades include the ZL1 1LE front fascia, a wicker bill spoiler, front dive planes, unique badging, and plenty of motorsport-inspired decals, as well as a few bits and pieces for the cabin.

  1. Limited 2024 production = higher collector value down the road. Last of the Camaro 6 series also helps. Last of the ICE Camaros seals the deal.

    1. @Sam Caloiaro- LAME is right!! As I mentioned in another post, Foxfest just wrapped up over at the Blue Oval headquarters. Huge turnout, showing Ford’s ongoing commitment to the Mustang name and heritage. Ford’s hitting it out of the park with the 2024 Mustang as well, particularly the Dark Horse and Dark Horse R. All this excitement and buzz around the Mustang, and NOTHING for those of us who have been passionate about Camaro & Firebird for multiple generations. GM executives these days clearly have no passion or enthusiasm and are more interested in turning out the next over-priced high tech “appliance!” GM needs to get it together FAST!

      1. They’re really just glorified accountants that happen to be in the car business. Cutting costs and increasing revenue (prices) is all that matters.

        Reply
        1. Actually, the bulk of direction-setting GM executives these days, including Mary B, are engineers..

          Reply
          1. Well, sort of.

Mary and Mark have engineering backgrounds while Paul Jacobson, the CFO, are the three that run the show. Of the three, Reuss is in reality the only one that has any serious product engineering experience. Mary was a mid-level manufacturing engineer who was passing time assigned to HR doing busy work (“manufacturing studies”) until Akerson took a shine to her. Then she was boosted straight to the top to the astonishment of many.

They’ve made GM plenty of money cutting costs to the bone and raising prices until it hurts to fund the EV transition. That’s their business plan in a nutshell.

    2. General Motors needs to fire whoever brainstormed this whole Camaro exit strategy! After the last time they discontinued the Camaro siting low sales, (They should have fired their Advertising division) they came back with the somewhat modified retro style and a hefty price increase,I have owned 4 Camaros in the past and was seriously thinking about a 2024, but considering the high cost , questionable availability, and No GM Discount, and the apparent “Screw You” attitude General Motors seems to have towards former Loyal American Union members that have bought Union Made Vehicles, I’m now looking elsewhere…

  4. They should have quietly let this icon die with dignity. GM loves slapping stickers on a car for a special edition like they are playing with a hot wheel toy. Meanwhile Mopar… never mind. I’m so sorry you were treated like the neglected step child, Camaro. I know the Chevy team wanted to honor your exit but the GM higher ups slapped them in the face and said no.

  7. This is about the stupidities Thing that GM has come up with. Why would you stop making the Camaro again. I bought a new 2011 Camaro then a 2013. Then order a brand new 2023 2SS in Dec. of 2022 in May of 2023 the dealer calls me and said we can’t get the 2SS you ordered. So I started looking and found a 2021 2SS with 2,000 miles on it. As bad as I hate it guess I will have to switch to Ford Mustang when I want another new one.

  8. Dealership called me this week and said they were returning my deposit on the 2023 red hot 1LE I ordered in March because there wasn’t a chance in hell I was getting the car. But the dealership in Calgary contacted my son and told him his C8 Z06 will be built September 9th. Build an ultra rare Vette but not a car they’ve been building on the alpha platform since 2017. Head scratcher for sure!

  9. Amazing how you can’t even get the new car or even order it went to the dealership to ask about it an they don’t even have a clue about it and get order it have a fiftieth anniversary car I’ll just keep it Chevrolet blew it again as well a dealership is marking up that car 50000 for stickers what a shame to go out that way.

  11. My first car was a Mustang in the 70’s, I really wanted a 79 TA. I finally got a 85 Firebird, 89 turbo TA, 94 LT1, 98 LS1 and 2002 Formula. After the F body extinction, I converted to a 2011 Camaro SS, a sixth generation in 2016. The V6 Alpha chassis was a huge improvement, the 2018 1LE was awesome, 2022 LT1 six speed manual was the real deal! I found a 2022 in 23, with the automatic which is the ultimate! Too bad they didn’t make it a 55th anniversary edition. 2023 model year should have been another Hot Wheels edition. It’s sad to see the 2024 model year cut in half, which means dealer markups. I’ll be left without any GM alternatives. It’s weird how the Supra and Z don’t seem to focus on high volume sales, even the Camaro outsells them by a wide margin. Camaro enthusiasts deserve better, over 50 years of loyalty down the drain. It’s sad! It was fun while it lasted, my son doesn’t understand why the icon has being neglected. Young guys stop me and ask about my Camaro all the time. GM just gave up.

  13. Why in the hell did GM go and do that to the Camaro?
All these years, Ford and Chevy competing head-to-head Camaro versus Mustang and And GM goes and drops the ball, you know what was wrong with the cars you should have fixed them. You should have put them out there stronger but you just didn’t do it. I think that maybe we’ve got some Ford
boys in there. Building are Chevrolet’s. Or GM just doesn’t want to win anymore. You guys should just walk away and let somebody in there. That knows what they’re doing. Make the Camaro a mean bastard again. Like it used to be in the old days. This generation is nothing but a bunch of little sissies and they don’t build cars with a crap anymore. You’re letting that Mustang walk all over that Camaro? I feel sorry for the idiot running GM. That is doing this to the Camaro You need to walk away and let a GM
Or a Chevy man work on that Camaro And now you’re just gonna drop the Camaro out of the race. What the hell is wrong with you? Did you get dropped on your head?
    I just don’t understand.
Your showcase camand you’re dropping it. This is the second time you guys have screweduck. It’s time for you to walk away. And let somebody do all the bidding themselves. So that Camaro can get back out there and start defeating. All these garbage cars Mustang garbage Dodge garbage. Put that Camaro back on top, what the hell is wrong with you? I’m disgusted with you and you call yourself a Chevy man. I wouldn’t doubt if you drive a Ford. Hell, you probably drive a Dodge, disgusting, Why would you do that to an icon? Very sad you are very sad people

  14. I tried for nearly a year to have GM accept my LT1 RS Build….I was seriously concerned that it would never come to be. Then out of the blue, GM accepted my order and gave me a production date for late August. I work at a dealership, and I’ve been upfront with people about the chance of them getting ZL1 orders filled. You have a better chance getting a Z06 before even getting your order accepted on a ZL1. Everyone is saying I should keep the miles down when I get this thing…..I’m going to drive the **** out of it. I want 100,000 miles in 6-7 years on this thing to actually enjoy the final ride of the V8 American coupes.

  16. You know, I’m Sitting here thinking what the hell is General motors thinking? Why would they get rid of an icon like Camaro? It’s like throw your youngest child out the door.
And then to top things Off. The last Camaro that you guys plan on making. You’re sending it out as is almost.
Instead of making it the meanest baddest freaking car out there to where it stands up for its legendary.
Status You’re just throwing the extra $20000 on it. And saying here you go, slap in the face. Take it or leave, I just find something weird. Like there’s some workers there that belong to Ford.
So you need to take what I’ve said about the Camaro. Make it the biggest Baddest car that you can put on the highway to eat Its competition with no problem. All American Made and continue making this car and making it bigger and better. Each time you make one each and every year. Don’t be idiots and discontinue a legend and icon.
That’s just stupid. After all these years of Chevy ford and dodge competing with each other You’re just gonna give up and drop out of the race.
That doesn’t sound like General motors to me. I don’t know what the rest of you think, but that does not sound like General motors to me at all.
I’m I myself would not give up the race. I myself would have designed the biggest baddest Camaro out there. And nobody would be able to touch it. That’s how you play this game. If you’re gonna play the game, play It right? Play it smart and play it bad ass Like Camaro was back in the day. Keep the Camaro alive.

  19. GM lost the Mustang / Camaro battle years ago and is still losing it. I think it is because the Camaro was more of a driver’s car. For years, the auto mags favored the Camaro’s for their performance, handling, etc. Customers (the ones showing up with cash at dealerships) were buying more Mustangs however. Mustangs were easier to get into and out of (not as low slung) and, at least lately, weren’t as ‘toy car overwrought ” looking. Not only that, but you could actually see out of the back of them. A Camaro looked hot but was harder to drive safely.
It is hard to blame GM for its wrong decisions, but the market just wasn’t buying them in numbers that made building them profitable. GM wasn’t idiotic for stopping production of Camaro’s. It would have been idiotic to keep building them if so few people were going to buy them. If Camaro volume was double what it is and it could compete favorably with Mustang, then GM would have kept building them.
What I don’t understand is dealers who could hardly give away Camaros the last few years suddenly putting mark ups on them because it will be the last year. Anyone who pays over MSRP for a 2024 Camaro is the idiotic one in my view. Pay more for an unsuccessful, discontinued car? Crazy! And shame on GM for removing employee pricing on yet another car that they actually have orders for.

  20. I don’t remember anybody saying anything about Chevy Winning anything or Ford winning anything. It was said that from way back in the 60s And the seventies It’s been a competition between Ford and Chevy. There’s no reason for somebody to come out. And say GM lost the Battle to Mustang a long time ago.
    Before I got hurt. I had a 1986 Iroc Z28 Camaro.
I went out and put an ass Spankings on a lot of Mustangs in that car. I had no problem getting in or out of that car. It was comfortable to me because I didn’t weigh 300 pounds. Trying to squeeze into a tuna again. That was a damn good car, and all these Mustang boys couldn’t believe that that car was spanking their ass all day long. So if you didn’t own a Camaro, don’t say nethan, you’re not trying to start anything. Just voicing my opinion and facts. Now to everybody else, I’m sorry. It’s just things like that shouldn’t be said.
    I apologize to everyone.
Keep keep little snide remarks like that to yourself. We’re not saying who beat who We are saying this car should not be discontinued. The Camaro was a very good car. It’s just lack of knowledge to keep this car Built the way it should have been. And as for the remarks that were made about trying to sell the car that wasn’t selling Well, then we need to look at something here. What was that little car called back in the 70s? Oh, the Pinto rear end me. And I blow up like a piece of dynamite but they pushed it and pushed it continue to make different versions of it. Again, I apologize to everyone.

  21. There is no reason for anyone to be saying. GM lost, too, Mustang a long time Ago No one ever said anything about that? No one said anything about Ford winning or Chevy winning.
It was a comment towards GM and losing the Camaro. The car is a legend and everybody knows it. The Camaro I had before I got Hurt. Was it 1986 Iroc Z28? At that time I did have some metal in my back from an accident. I had no problem getting in and out of that car.
And it fit me just fine. I was comfortable in that car so I don’t know where you get off. Saying that they’re too low, slung. And they’re not comfortable.
I used to go out on the weekend. And this was a everyday driver on the weekends. I used to go out and put on the spanking on those little Mustangs and they were 1990s. Mustangs And a couple of the newer early 2000 models.
, but that’s a different story here. See. What we’re talking about is losing an icon. Something GM shouldn’t do. And GM holding back and not putting the horse power Under the hood. That they should have put under the hood. And that’s why we say or I say. There’s probably some Ford boys in there.
Throwing the wrench in the fan It wasn’t a discussion on who’s winning what To me and other Chevy fans GM is making a Mistake. I apologize to everyone for voicing my opinion on this matter.
And the way some of these things are typed in. It’s always been said think before you speak for you may offend someone and you might not like it if they offend you back. Everyone have a great day. I apologize if I offended anyone.

The way that GM is ending the Camaro sucks, I emailed GM years ago before they brought the Camaro back begging them to revise the Camaro from 1969 era into the 2009 era like Dodge was doing at the time. It’s sad that now people are literally stressing out try to get a Collectors Edition including myself. They are making it very hard on the very people who help them from the brink of bankruptcy to a profitable state now. GM if you read this message , I’ve owed a 19632 door impala, a 1964 impala SS, a 1972 Chevelle SS 454, 2002 S10 Extreme extended cab is my daily driver and a 2012 Camaro 2SS. I have a order in for a 2SS Collectors Edition, and I would love to get my car sooner than later, I don’t know where I am in terms of event codes but I would love any help I can get to get my car please.
