Update: since publishing this article, we have learned that the refreshed Cadillac Escalade will not launch for the 2024 model year. Instead, it will likely launch for the 2025 model year, so see what we expect from the 2025 Cadillac Escalade.
First breaking cover for the 2021 model year, the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade is poised for a mid-cycle enhancement, otherwise known as a refresh, in conjunction with the upcoming 2024 model year. Naturally, GM Authority has accumulated quite a bit of intel on the 2024 Cadillac Escalade thus far. Now, we’re putting it all together to tell you everything we know and expect from the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade.
Exterior
As before, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will once again drop in as a full-size SUV with regard to body style. However, as is tradition, the exterior will be reworked with updated styling, including revisions to the front and rear fascia, and possibly new taillight clusters. New 24-inch wheel options will be offered as well, as GM Authority was the first to report, as will a new roof-mounted communications fin.
In addition, the lineup will once again include the Escalade ESV as the extended-wheelbase variant of the popular luxury SUV nameplate, offering more interior space, especially for the third row and cargo area.
Interior
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac will also feature an overhauled cabin with a full-width, coast-to-coast (pillar-to-pillar) infotainment screen, possibly echoing the interior of the Cadillac Celestiq ultra-luxury sedan in terms of overall design.
Powertrain
As for the powertrain lineup, the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade will introduce a new diesel option, with the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine replacing the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax offered previously. The new LZ0 will deliver more power and torque, as well as fix a few refinement issues, as GM Authority covered previously.
Meanwhile, the standard naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine will offer a new dual-mode exhaust. The GM 10-speed automatic transmission will be on hand for cog swaps, feeding either RWD as standard, or 4WD as optional.
Platform
As for the underpinnings, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will once again ride on the GM T1 platform.
Availability
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade will be available in North America, the Middle East, and select export markets.
Production
Production will once again take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
We’ll keep this article updated as we learn more about the 2024 Cadillac Escalade, so be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Escalade news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.
Comments
I don’t think a 4th row seating will be useful, most likely be too tight. Sunroof option is a plus. After market fog lights would not be ideal. Gary that’s just a bad idea on those fog lights.
I sure hope you’re right on the Diesel engine option. I want that new LZ0 engine, but I’ve spoken to a couple different dealerships who are insisting for 2024 the GM full size SUVs will continue using the first gen LM2.
It is been my experience that salesman are so often wrong about future vehicles. I talked to my GMC guy and was explaining to him that the 2024s are going through a mid-cycle refresh. I would take it with a grain of salt. Having said that, my fingers are crossed the new Tahoes, Yukon’s ect. Have the LZ0 because I plan on ordering one!
Let’s face it: Dealers are often wrong about CURRENT vehicles, let alone future vehicles.
I hear what ya’ll are saying, and I sure hope you’re right. It’s just that one of those salesmen I talked to sent me a screenshot of the VIN breakdowns for the 2024 model year. For the 2024 Escalade the engine identifier remains the 8th digit, and the only 2 options it showed were L87 (6.2 gas) and LM2. Now I admit I got this in early May, so perhaps it hadn’t been updated…
(Fingers crossed)
This is terrible news for the Jeep Wagoneer, Ford Navigator, and the rest of the pretenders, procrastinators, that want to entertain in this arena. This is all premium grade GM territory!!!!
Who Cares…?
The shareholders ..
If it comes with a 4bbl carb , then I’m in.
How about a new small block V8…….
And no AFM!!!!!
Wish we knew expected date. Was about to buy a 2023 and the sales guy confirmed changes coming but said they aren’t major and not to worry, he immediately lost credibility.
Just waiting for more official date to order a 2024
I spoke to a sales lady I’ve had some pretty good experience with. Although she couldn’t lock down a specific date, she did say that they couldn’t order 2024 Escalades until September.
I heard this as well as I was in the same position as Jdoc – getting rid of my diesel Range Rover and wanting to get the Escalade. However, my sales team was very excited about the refresh and said it could mean it costs a little more but they’re expecting beautiful updates (they mentioned the full-width infotainment screen and possibly grille/taillight changes, but we were the ones asking about the new diesel motor).
I agree I wish we knew the date as I’ve been given August/September as an order timeline from my dealer. Fingers crossed!
I have had a Cadillac Escalade ESV on order since October 2021
I ordered a fully optioned Diesel ESV and my dealer was told in May of 2023 that my unit was being scheduled for 2024 build.
We are in the Canadian market place and have seen very few of the Escalades on the road .
We spend the winters in the BaJa Mexico where the new Chev Tahoes / Suburbans , GMC
Yukon , Yukon XL and Escalade , Escalade ESV are everywhere. Visited the dealer in the BaJa where they had an Assortment of these vehicles on the ground. I currently own over 30 GM vehicles and was wondering why Mexico takes priority over Canada, and when I might hear when my Escalade is scheduled to be built. Regards
