General Motors unwrapped the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD last October, showing off some revised exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, powertrain changes, and several new trim levels. However, despite the extra gloss, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD still claims to cover all the heavy-duty pickup activities expected of it. Now, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD is showing off its heavy-duty DNA in a new video advertisement, as featured here.
Clocking in at 30 seconds, the video ad includes some nice glory shots of the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD, as well as shots of it doing the traditional heavy-duty truck activities. Kicking it off, we see the pickup towing two enormous Sherp ATVs. As the ad boasts, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD offers a best-in-class maximum tow rating of 22,070 pounds, as available on Crew Cab Long Bed Pro, SLE, and SLT models with the optional NHT Max Trailering package, as well as Crew Cab Long Bed SRW models. In addition to towing those two massive ATVs, we also see the 2024 GMC Sierra HD pulling an enormous boat, and an equally gigantic RV. Check out previous GM Authority coverage for a more thorough breakdown of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD towing capacities.
Under the hood, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD offers a pair of engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as well as the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which was uprated for the 2024 model-year refresh to produce a maximum of 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the GM six-speed automatic transmission equipped by gasoline-fueled Sierra HD models prior to the 2024 model-year refresh.
The ad also includes a brief look at the 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate, the new range-topper of the bunch featuring unique styling enhancements and a luxurious cabin space.

Took deliveryof my new 3500 drw ultimate about a month ago.
There was no owners manual in the truck and the dealer has no idea how to get one.
He sent me a link to print one. Now I have 440 pages of 8 1/2x 11 paper that’s so large and cumbersome that I can’t find a storage spot in the truck for it.
For a truck with an msrp over $100k one would think gmc could simply do better than that.
If they can’t rectify this, it may well be my final gm vehicle.
The truck does its job well and is loaded w8th features that need explanation.
An owners manual would help with that.
Yeah, they like to push people to go electronic with the manuals. For me, paper is much easier to read especially if you are going back and forth between different pages or the index. I bought a used 2022 2500 and the manual was (nor the diesel supplement) not in the glove box and like you neither the dealer nor GM could get me a printed one. There’s plenty of them on eBay for a premium price though. I think that it’s possible that it’s a scam and that the dealership employees at whatever level swipe them (new and used) and sell them on eBay.
You on the other hand Gary just bought a new 3500 dually Ultimate which certainly should qualify for a little extra effort by someone at GM to get you a manual.
Hey there Hank, I’ll check and see if the diesel supplement is available as well. Im not sure where you gents are from but the pricing between USA and CDN parts pricing is bonkers. Just an fyi there too.
Sounds good. Thank you
hopefully Biden won’t be reelected and taxpayer dollars
stay in the pockets of those who earned them, and not be wasted on EV fanaticism. The current management ought
look back in history and see what made GM famous. BIG BLOCK CAMARO’S, CHEVELLE’S,GM ENGINES used to win WW2,427 tall block truck engines. I had one in a CHEV 60
series dump with a12 foot front plow and a 10 foot wing
that would use 10-12 gallons less fuel than the 366 powered truck with 11. foot front plow that worked in tandem. The following summer I put a 427 short-block
in the 366 powered truck, the fuel milage went UP! Also
had a FWD(brand) 12 FT. Front and 12 FT. wing, 6-71
powered that all wheels could be LOCKED giving true 4WD with the flip of a lever. That’s why you never hear about ELECTRIC snowplow vehicles. because they WON’T
WORK!!!!!!!!
of a lever
Hey there Gary, I have been viewing this site for years as through good and bad I’m a fan of the general. I’ve been selling parts at a GM dealer for 20 years and can confirm that at least here in Canada I have been able to get paper owners manuals for a long time, in fact I went to the site where we order them from which is a dealer only site and from what I can see they are in stock. I’d like to confirm that tomorrow though when I get back to work.
I want a paper owners manual!
You do need a manual. In fact, it’s critical. I had a shop manual when I bought a new truck years ago. It proved invaluable in repairing the truck. I also found the drivers manual which I perused when I got it. Later I had a hard time starting it and re-read the manual and it provided critical information on how you are suppose to ACTUALLY start it. Starts like dream now. So simple……
So, it is a shame they do not OFFER you a shop manual OR a drivers guide. Usually a small thick book that fits in your glove compartment.
100k for an interior upgrade, similar to a king ranch?
In this economy? No thanks.
If you’re comparing a middle of the pack king ranch optioned truck to the new denali ultimate, you’re uninformed.
The new ultimate optioned gmc is compatible to the Ford Limited optioned truck. That’s at least 2 option levels over the king ranch.
I had a new l ford imited in 2019 and the msrp was $95K then.
Price one now and get informed.
Of course it’ll be a 2022 or maybe an ordered 2023 and not a 2024 because that’s all ford makes available.
Still waiting for the E85 option on the PRO to become available again. WTF, GMC? A $95 option on a $60,000 truck that you can’t get your sh*t together for? What a disgrace.
