TF Sport To Team Up With Corvette Racing In FIA WEC For 2024 Season

In the wake of a major shakeup with Corvette Racing that will see GM drop its factory-supported efforts in favor of customer teams, TF Sport has announced it will run two Chevy Corvette Z06 GT3.R race cars in 2024 in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Currently, TF Sport fields Aston Martin race cars, but will end its relationship with the manufacturer upon conclusion of the 2023 racing season.

“The new Corvette Z06 GT3.R perfectly embodies the competitive and ambitious spirit that Corvette Racing has built over 25 years of racing,” TF Sport said in a statement. “TF Sport will support Corvette Racing in its ambitious plans, as the team aims to confirm itself as a reference player in World Endurance Championship.”

TF Sport says that it is excited to join the winning pedigree that comes with Corvette Racing, which has accrued 125 victories, something that will help the Corvette Z06 GT3.R remain a threat on the racetrack.

“We are excited to welcome TF Sport to the Corvette Racing family,” said Christie Bagne, Corvette Z06 GT3.R program manager. “[TF Sport director] Tom Ferrier and his organization showcase the elements we were looking for in a team to run our Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the FIA WEC – a first-class operation, strong collaboration and a history of success. We look forward to working with Tom and his team to make the Z06 GT3.R a success in the WEC and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 and beyond.”

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to represent such an iconic brand on the world stage,” Ferrier said. “Corvette Racing has an immense history at Le Mans and we will be looking to continue that run of success. I’d like to thank everyone at Aston Martin Racing for the support and success we have had over the past six years and seven Le Mans, but now I feel the time is right for a new challenge in the WEC. We still have a job to do in this year’s WEC now lying second in the championship and will give it our all to finish on a high.”

  1. Hopefully, this is the first of many more teams.

    1. There will be 4 more cars and two more teams to add to this one and Pratt and Miller. 8 cars total.

The question is will any of these other teams go to LeMans too?

I am thinking the GTD car will be Hendrick Motorsports. Just a guess.
