General Motors unveiled the 2024 Chevy Trax last October, pulling the sheets on a brand-new generation for the entry-level crossover. In addition to a new powertrain, an overhauled cabin, and new tech features, the 2024 Chevy Trax also debuts new exterior styling and new dimensions. Now, we’re taking a walk around the 2024 Chevy Trax RS in the following video.
Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, this walkaround video is about seven minutes, 20 seconds long, and includes an in-depth look at the various exterior features of the all-new crossover.
This particular model is an example of the 2RS trim level, which sits at the top of the 2024 Chevy Trax lineup (LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, Activ) and offers sporty flavored features and styling. This particular example is also covered in Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint (paint code GB0), while a set of 19-inch wheels ride in the corners.
This model is also equipped with the RS-specific grille treatment, including RS badging, as well as a black Chevy Bow Tie badge and semi-glossy front-end trim. Forward illumination is provided by LED lamps mounted in the sides of the fascia, while LEDs are used in the thin upper lighting signatures as well.
The profile shows off the two-tone wheels and a set of roof rails. The window trim is done in black, as are the sideview mirrors and door handles.
In back, we see a small spoiler attached to the top of the hatch, while the taillights wrap around into the rear fenders. In terms of exterior dimensions, the 2024 Chevy Trax is lower, longer, and wider than the preceding generation.
There’s plenty more to say about the exterior of the 2024 Chevy Trax, so hit play for the full tour:
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Trax features a single engine option, specifically the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine. Maximum output is rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound feet of torque, with the GM six-speed automatic transmission onboard for cog swaps. Output reaches the pavement exclusively through the front wheels, while all-wheel drive is not available. The GM VSS-F vehicle set provides the underpinnings.
Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Trax starts at $21,495, including destination freight charge, while the 2RS trim level starts at $24,995.

Seems very low hp rating? Looks good but again only fwd.
It gets on the highway fine which is all you need to worry about . You’ll never wins race but not for that
That depends on the entry ramp.
Lots of short ones here in OKC area. Ideally you need 0-60+ to be ZL1 times. LOL
It is unthinkable here in New England to purchase a vehicle lacking All Wheel Drive. The fact that these are not manufactured with AWD was enough to have us purchase a 2022 Model. The look and features of this new design are very compelling.
Will they ever offer a AWD
No because they need Trail Blazers to sell
They should add all wheel drive and the 1.3 to the Trax and do away with the Trailblazer.
Great styling, an EV version is all it would take for me to buy.
I’ve see them in person and love it. Best cuv crossover in the market and really affordable
It’s a looker that’s for sure and dang good pricing to boot.
Give me a Spark manual for $14k.
Given the state of gmc that would give them 50 cents on profit margin lol .
Love mine, bought it 05/09/23 I purchased the 2 RS in Nitro yellow
Shopping for the 1RS for my Daughter in Law and this new 2023 styling is perfect, and better looking than the Trailblazer.
3 simple changes would make this a really strong entry. Swapping up to the 1.3 engine would probably cost little to nothing and might even improve mileage slightly. Throwing a little padding in the center armrest would also cost little. Last but not least a power seat should be offered as an option on the LT and 2RS. Maybe some of these items could be addressed for the next model year.
The seats are the deal breaker. Short and narrow cushions with not enough rear travel for a tall man like me.
