Next-Gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 Spied Testing Again

The forthcoming 2025 model year is set to introduce an all-new generation for the Cadillac XT5 crossover, complete with new styling, an overhauled interior, an updated platform, and more. The next-gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 will also be exclusive to the Chinese market. Now, GM Authority spy photographers have once again caught the new 2025 Cadillac XT5 testing as a camo-clad prototype.

The new 2025 Cadillac XT5 testing as a prototype.

As was the case with the prototypes seen previously, this next-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5 prototype is covered in heavy camouflage, including black vinyl on top of a swirling black-and-white wrap. Standard features include a set of placeholder headlights, which are arranged in a vertical layout around the sides of the front facia. Between the placeholder headlights we see a new mesh design for the grille. Both elements seem to recall similar styling introduced with the recently refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4. As covered previously, GM China will be responsible for vehicle development.

Notably, this particular 2025 Cadillac XT5 prototype is wearing a new set of wheels compared to the prototypes seen previously. These particular rollers incorporate larger, thicker spokes versus to the thin multi-spoke design seen on earlier prototypes. The spokes end in a stylized geometric design around the outer rim. The finish, however, is a familiar silver color.

With regard to exterior siding, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 will be about the same size as the current model. That said, the cabin space will be completely overhauled, incorporating a new digital display stretched across the dash into the center stack. The interior design will once again draw inspiration from the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4, but with a few unique tweaks to the screen layout to differentiate the two models.

Under the body panels, the next-generation Cadillac XT5 will ride on the GM C1-2 platform, offered as the second iteration of the GM C1 platform that underpins the current model.

Back in the U.S., the current XT5 will carryover unchanged for the 2024 model year.

  1. Makes no sense why GM would not bring this to the US market. They cannot produce enough Lyriq’s for returning XT5 customers who are in need of a new vehicle. Further more everyone is not ready to make the transition to an EV.. really bad mistake by GM.

  3. “….XT5 will also be exclusive to the Chinese market.”

They see no market for a two-row ICE luxury crossover? Just amazing,

  5. Why does the Chinese Market get all the good cars and we get stuck with tinny turbo 4’s and electrics? Another slap in the face to the US tax payer who bailed GM out!

You should really do a little research before you post. There are V6s and V8s offered in the US. It’s the Chinese that get only 4 cylinders.

What “good cars” are offered in China that arent here? The Chinese don’t get the Blackwings. It doesn’t get the Escalade, either.

And how do you know this next-gen XT5 is “good”? Can you see through the padded black vinyl covering it? Do you know what engines are being offered? Have you driven one?

      2. Let me see, how about the Cadillac CT6, the Buick Lacrosse and Buick Regal and Buick Regal GS and the new small Cadillac SUV that is smaller than the XT4. Maybe you should do a little research before you post.

  6. We are being sold out to China. I am on a Cadillac lot here in the USA……. We have no vehicles to sell yet we are sending and building vehicle only for the CCP market. Should be against the law in my opinion. Using our tax dollars to build cars for china. Yes our tax dollars, if not for the bailout GM would be gone

    1. What Cadillac model do we build in the US and ship to China? Or what Cadillac is built in China and shipped here?

GM doesn’t care about the though they would rather take that Commi money. It’ll end soon as they invade Taiwan. Maybe that’s to much global understanding for a car blog

    2. Man I am so ready for boomers to be gone. Go yap about China at the old folks home and leave the real talk to the young folk. Cadillac sells amazing cars here right now. They also sell cars in china tailored to Chinese tastes. That’s good business and excellent use of their money. Would you rather they use our “tax dollars” to NOT be profitable and competitive? Do you also not eat at American chains that have tailor-made menus for every specific country they sell in? IDk, again, sounds like good business.

      1. What in the phrase “…The next-gen 2025 Cadillac XT5 will also be exclusive to the Chinese market. ” sounds like good business to you, when Cadillac is hard-core struggling to build any EVs at all, and also sell them to a market that isn’t fully on-board with the EV bandwagon?

…and what the heck does boomer have anything to do with the comment you responded to? So a salesman is upset that he doesn’t have much product to sell, and the company he sells for announces new product for China but no the U.S….he can’t be a bit upset? Get a grip. One of days you’ll be the new boomer as well. Happens every generation.
